Chuck Haering - Haering took over head coaching duties of the men’s track and field program in 1981 and the cross country program in 1983 for CSU-Pueblo legend James “Spank” Blasing … He served as the women’s cross country coach from 1986-92 and women’s track and field from 1987-93 … During his tenure as head track coach, the men’s team crowned 20 RMAC Champions, 17 All-Americans and one national champion … The 1982-83 team won the RMAC Championship, while the 1987-88 team finished 25th at the NAIA Championships … During his time as the head cross country coach, CSU-Pueblo made four NAIA National Championship appearances and finished in the top 20 in all four occasions … The 1987 team finished 13th … Prior to becoming head coach he served as an assistant football, cross country and track coach at Southern Colorado … In all his time as a cross country coach, the men’s team made 10 NAIA National Championship appearances, which included a seventh place finish in 1978 … The men’s track team was crowned conference champions in 1979 an the 1980 squad as 10th at the national championships … Nearly 40 athletes were honored as All-Americans in his time as a coach … Football compiled a 54-44 (.551) during his tenure as an assistant … Also served as an instructor in the USC physical education department until 1985.
