BOULDER CITY, Nev. - As the postseason lights shine brightest in the desert, Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf senior captain Archie Wyatt is ready for one final ride in the red and blue.
Wyatt will represent the ThunderWolves at the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championships beginning tomorrow at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas. The four-day championship returns to a course and setting that Wyatt knows better than almost anyone in the field.
The fourth-year senior from Scotland will make his first career appearance at the NCAA National Championships in what also marks the final collegiate tournament of his standout career at CSU Pueblo. Wyatt becomes the second straight ThunderWolf individual to qualify for nationals after Agustin Pizzorno represented the Pack at last season's national championship at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Under the leadership of head coach Josh Koschke, the ThunderWolves have continued to establish themselves as one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II golf. Koschke has guided CSU Pueblo to nine consecutive postseason appearances and last led the ThunderWolves to the NCAA National Championships as a team in 2022.
Now, Wyatt will look to close out his career on one of the biggest stages in Division II golf.
Entering the week, Wyatt is ranked No. 81 nationally and No. 12 in the South Central Region after putting together a stellar senior campaign. Across 28 rounds this season, Wyatt owns a 71.8 scoring average and has consistently been the ThunderWolves' top performer throughout the year.
The veteran Scotsman also enters nationals with plenty of experience at Boulder Creek Golf Club. Thanks to the RMAC Championships being held annually at the Boulder City venue in recent years, Wyatt and the ThunderWolves have logged more than 40 competitive rounds at the desert layout over the past several seasons.
That course familiarity could prove critical this week as the national championship setup is expected to play extremely difficult at nearly 7,600 yards on the par-72 track. Competitors will play the Desert Hawk and Coyote Run nines throughout the championship.
Wyatt showed his comfort level at Boulder Creek earlier this season during the NCAA National Championship Preview held Oct. 6-7. During that event, the ThunderWolves finished 11-under par as a team, while Wyatt carded rounds of 3-under 69, 3-under 69, and 5-over 77 across the three-round tournament.
The spring season presented a much different challenge at the Las Vegas Desert Classic in early March, where changing course conditions and firmer desert weather created a more demanding test. Wyatt finished 12-over par for the tournament after rounds of 76, 78, and 74.
However, Wyatt bounced back in impressive fashion at the 2026 RMAC Championships, once again held at Boulder Creek Golf Club. In a weather-shortened championship where the final round was reduced to nine holes due to high winds, the ThunderWolves surged late and finished runner-up in the conference standings.
CSU Pueblo appeared poised to make a run at the RMAC title before weather ultimately halted full completion of the tournament.
Wyatt was sensational during the conference championship run, opening with a 3-over 75 before firing a second-round 5-under 67 — one of the best rounds of the tournament. He then sat 2-under through his final nine holes before play concluded, finishing the week at 4-under par overall.
Now, Wyatt will look to carry that momentum into the national championship field as he prepares for the final event of his collegiate career.
Round one of the NCAA Division II National Championships begins tomorrow morning, with Wyatt scheduled to tee off at 10:20 a.m. Mountain Time.
