COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's and women's golf programs continued to showcase their excellence in the classroom as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 Academic All-RMAC teams on Wednesday.
The ThunderWolves combined for four First Team Academic All-RMAC selections and nine overall Academic Honor Roll recipients, highlighting another successful year both academically and athletically for the CSU Pueblo golf programs.
Headlining the men's team was senior Evan Smith, who earned a spot on the Academic All-RMAC First Team for the second consecutive season. A Pueblo native and graduate of Pueblo East High School, Smith graduated with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average in Economics/Finance and was one of just eight golfers selected to the conference's First Team.
The recognition adds to an impressive list of accomplishments for Smith, who was named the 2026 recipient of CSU Pueblo's prestigious Threlkeld Prize for Excellence, one of the University's highest student honors. Awarded annually to a graduating senior who exemplifies excellence in academics, leadership and service, the honor recognizes students who have made significant contributions to both the University and community while maintaining outstanding academic achievement. Smith was selected from a distinguished pool of finalists nominated by faculty and staff across campus and was recognized during the Student Involvement and Leadership Awards ceremony before being honored again at spring commencement.
Smith's selection also capped an outstanding career with the ThunderWolves, helping lead CSU Pueblo to its ninth consecutive NCAA postseason appearance during the 2025-26 campaign.
Joining Smith on the RMAC Academic Honor Roll from the men's program were senior Marius Dosiere, junior Callum Kenneally, redshirt junior Kyle Leydon and senior Agustin Pizzorno.
The women's golf program was well represented on the conference's First Team, placing three student-athletes among the eight selections recognized by the RMAC.
Senior Freya Constable earned First Team honors after posting a 3.82 GPA as a Mathematics major. The Edinburgh, Scotland native was a key contributor to one of the most successful seasons in program history and added another academic accolade to an already decorated career. Junior Lisa Ekberg also garnered First Team recognition behind a 3.97 GPA in Psychology, while sophomore Yale Lee earned a place on the squad with a 3.90 GPA in Business Management.
The trio helped guide the ThunderWolves to a historic 2025-26 season that included a fourth consecutive RMAC Championship, a sixth tournament victory, and the program's first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships.
CSU Pueblo also placed four golfers on the RMAC Women's Golf Academic Honor Roll. Along with Constable, Ekberg and Lee, sophomore Sinead Ni Cheilleachair was recognized for her work in the classroom as an Accounting major.
The Academic All-RMAC First Team is selected by the conference's athletics communications directors and honors student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. Nominees must maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, have completed two consecutive semesters at their institution and be a starter or key reserve on their respective team.
With four First Team selections and nine overall honorees, the ThunderWolves once again demonstrated that success in the classroom continues to match the accomplishments achieved on the course.
