GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado State University Pueblo Swimming team continued their solid week at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, picking up 84 crucial points on Thursday to move up two spots in the standings, putting themselves in prime position to make a run on the weekend.
The Pack picked up those 84 points with a strong performance from the 400 Medley Relay squad, who picked up 30 points with a sixth place finish in the event.
Carla Sanchez Guareno led off for the ThunderWolves in the event. The squad of

Olivia Dannhaus,
Paola C Wu, and
Laci Denn were able to swim a time of 3:54.67 to give the Pack some much needed points.
Also competing in the 400 Medley Relay was the squad of
McKenna Schilling,
Regan Rodriguez,
Aline Gutierrez, and
Aleksandra Dutkowiak as that squad was able to swim a time of 4:14.48 to pick up eight points for the ThunderWolves.
C Wu was able to pick up a big chunk of points in the 400 IM, winning the B Final for the Pack, swimming a time of 4:37.61 and picking up 20 big points for CSU Pueblo. Also in the B Final was Denn, who finished fifth in the B group, swimming a time of 4:44.73 and picking up 14 points for the Pack. Gutierrez finished in fourth place in the C Final, swimming a solid time of 4:52.87 to score five points for the Pack.
Rounding out the scoring for the ThunderWolve was
Nalani Wess and Sanchez Guareno. The senior Wess was able to advance to the C Finals and delivered four points for the ThunderWolves in the event with a time of 1:00.64. Sanchez Guareno concluded her day in the 200 free with a time of 1.57.10 in the C Final to pick up three points for the Pack.
CSU Pueblo is back in the pool tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM in Grand Junction with session 11 kicking off Day Four of the Championships.
