GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Colorado State University Pueblo swimming wrapped up the second day of competition at the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday at the CMU El Pomar Natatorium, highlighted by a school-record relay performance and strong point production across all finals events.
Through two days of competition, the ThunderWolves sit sixth in the team standings with 140 points as the meet reached the midway point.
The night opened with the 200-yard medley relay, where CSU Pueblo fielded two entries in the finals. The ThunderWolves' A relay delivered a historic performance, breaking the school record with a time of 1:47.53, which converted to 1:45.00 after altitude adjustment, and scoring 34 points. Senior Carla Sanchez Guareno led off the relay on backstroke, followed by junior Olivia Dannhaus on breaststroke. Freshman Andrea Reyes handled the butterfly leg before freshman Aria Chase anchored the relay on freestyle to close out the record-breaking swim.
CSU Pueblo's B relay also competed in the 200-yard medley relay finals, finishing in 1:56.37 to score 10 points. The relay featured junior Mckenna Schilling on backstroke, sophomore Regan Rodriguez on breaststroke, sophomore Aline Gutierrez on butterfly, and senior Aleksandra Dutkowiak anchoring the freestyle leg.
The ThunderWolves continued to score in the women's 1,000-yard freestyle, one of the most demanding events of the championships. Freshman Andrea Reyes posted a 10:36.46 finish to place inside the top 10 and score 17 points for CSU Pueblo. Senior Aleksandra Dutkowiak added three points with an 11:15.40 swim, while freshman Sarah Fransson contributed with an 11:20.07 performance to round out the Pack's distance efforts.
CSU Pueblo also competed in the women's 200-yard individual medley during the finals session. The ThunderWolves battled through a deep field, gaining valuable championship experience across all four strokes as they continued to build momentum moving forward.
With Day Two complete, CSU Pueblo remains in position to add points as the championships continue. The ThunderWolves return to the pool Thursday for Day Three of the RMAC Championships, with several events still to come as the Pack looks to build on its strong showing
