PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Colorado State University Pueblo men's and women's track teams continued their indoor season here Friday as they posted two NCAA provisional marks on the first day of action of the 9th Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic held at Pittsburg State's Plaster Center.
The Plaster Center will host this year's NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships next month.
In Friday's first day of action, junior
Olivia Mikaelian (Albuquerque, N.M./El Dorado) posted an NCAA provisional mark in the women's weight throw with a mark of 17.41 meters (57-1") to finish in fourth place overall. In addition to Mikaelian, junior All-American
Katherine Higgins (Mead, Colo./Ponderosa) was ninth with a mark of 16.58 meters (54-5").
The other NCAA provisional mark came in the women's Distance Medley Relay as the Pack women's team finished third overall with a time of 11:40.98. The members of the relay team were freshman
Camille Renou (Chalonnes, France/AS Saint Barthelemy), sophomore
Mary Scoggins (Rangely, Colo./Rangely), sophomore
Jadyn Herron-Jonap (Queen Creek, Ariz./Casteel) and senior
Margot Thomas-Gatel (Chapet, Ile-de-France, France/Notre Dame Les Oiseaux).
In the women's 5,000-meter run, sophomore
Crystal Armijo (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo East) and sophomore
Sarah Renberg (Fresno, Callf./Edison) were 10th and 12th with times of 18:11.31 and 18:12.44 respectively.
Freshman
Danaya Kinnard (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) posted a season-best time in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.69, while freshman
Janise Everett (Colorado Springs, Colo./Mesa Ridge) posted a 33rd place finish in the 60-meter dash qualifying with a time of 8.10.
Meanwhile, on the men's side, the Pack's Distance Medley Team finished in seventh place with a time of 10:03.67. The members of the relay team were junior

Justin Jenks (Helena, Mont./Helena Capital) was 12th in the men's weight throw with a season-best mark of 17.10 meters (56-1"). Junior
Lukas Moran (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo West) was 29th with a mark of 14.87 meters (48-9") and sophomore
Felipe Castro Engel (Santiago, Chile/Mount Mercy) was 35th with a mark of 13.85 meters (45-5").
In the long jump, sophomore
Keith McInnis (Denver, Colo./Denver North) was 13th with a mark of 6.98 meters (22-10.75").
Senior
Daniel Beam (Rio Rancho, N.M./Western New Mexico) and sophomore
Joseph Harker (Rehoboth, N.M./Bryant & Stratton College) were third and ninth in the 5,000 meter run with times of 14:39.57 and 14:43.76 respectively.
Freshman
Nathan Swalley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Fountain-Fort Carson) was 22nd in the 600-yard run with a season-best time of 1:16.44.
The meet will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. Mountain.
