Retzlaff and Russell Earn First-Team All-Region Honors, Four Named Second Team Selections

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo senior receiver Reggie Retzlaff (Corona, Calif./Riverside City College) continued to rake in postseason honors on Thursday morning as was selected as the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CAA) Offensive Player of the Year for Super Region Four and a First-Team All-Super Region selection at receiver.

Retzlaff headlines the D2CCCA All-Super Region Four Team that included six ThunderWolves, including two First-Team selections and four Second-Team selections. The Pack were one of eight schools in the region to have multiple first team All-Region selections as Angelo State led the way with five first team honorees and nine overall selections. The Pack and Colorado School of Mines each had six overall selections, while Augustana had four overall selections. Central Washington, Minnesota State and Colorado Mesa each had three overall players selected.

In addition to Retzlaff, the other Pack player to earn First-Team All-Super Region Four honors was senior running back Howard Russell V (Phoenix, Ariz./Eastern New Mexico). The four Pack players named Second-Team All-Region selections were sophomore offensive lineman Senon Chapple (Fort Worth, Texas/Fossil Ridge), junior offensive lineman Domingo Prince II (Aurora, Colo./Cherry Creek), senior defensive back Daniel Bone III (Colorado Springs, Colo./Pine Creek) and sophomore defensive back Donovan English (Pomona, Calif./Colony). Both Retzlaff and Russell are now eligible for D2CCA All-American honors as they advance to the national ballot.

Along with named the D2CCA Super Region Four Offensive Player of the Year and a First-Team D2CCA All-Region selection, Retzlaff has also been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, a First-Team All-RMAC selection, and a finalist from Super Region Four for the 2024 Harlon Hill Award.

Retzlaff earns his Super Region Four Offensive Player of the Year honor after leading the Pack to the 2024 RMAC title, a 10-2 overall record and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Division II playoffs from Super Region Four. He led the RMAC in receiving touchdowns (12), receiving yards per game (116.9) and receiving yards (1,228) and was second in the RMAC in receptions per game (6.1) and all-purpose yards per game (112.5). On the season, he caught a single-season school record 67 passes for a single-season school record 1,228 yards and tied the single-season school record for touchdown receptions with 12.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound receiver ranked in the Top 10 in Division II in touchdown receptions, receiving yards and receiving yards per game and his 24 career touchdown receptions are tied for tops on the school's all-time charts and eighth among active Division II players.
