PUEBLO, Colo. – Heading into Saturday's Top 10 showdown at Western Colorado, Colorado State University Pueblo football remained ranked No. 7 and jumped one spot to No. 8 in this week's latest AFCA Division II Coaches' and D2Football.com polls that were released Monday.
In this week's ninth national Division II football polls of the 2025 season, the ThunderWolves, who had a bye last weekend and is sporting a 7-1 overall record and 6-0 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, remained ranked No. 7 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll presented by HUDL and advanced one spot to No. 8 in this week's D2Football.com Media Top 25 Poll.
The Pack received 578 points in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll to sit 34 points in front of No. 8 Central Washington (7-1) and 32 points behind No. 6 Western Colorado (8-0), who the Pack plays this coming Saturday in Gunnison, Colo. The Mountaineers improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in the RMAC following its 40-17 win at home this past Saturday against Colorado School of Mines.
CSU Pueblo continues to be one of three RMAC schools either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AFCA poll and one of two league schools ranked in the Top 10 of the D2Football.com poll. Besides the Pack in the AFCA poll, Western Colorado (8-0) remained ranked No. 6, while Chadron State (6-2 overall) was one of 14 schools to earn votes this week as they Eagles received 14 votes after having a bye last weekend. In the D2Football.com poll, Western Colorado remained ranked No. 5.
In this week's latest polls, the top five teams in each poll remained the same from last week as Ferris State (8-0) leads both polls at No. 1 as they earned 775 points and all 31 first place votes in the AFCA poll, while Harding (8-0) remained at No. 2 in both polls, while West Florida (8-0) remained No. 3 in the AFCA poll and the Argonauts are followed at No. 4 by Kutztown (Pa.) (8-0) at No. 4 and Augustana (8-0) remained at No. 5.
Meanwhile, in the D2Football.com poll, Kutztown (Pa.) remains at No. 3 and is followed at No. 4 by West Florida and Western Colorado at No. 5.
CSU Pueblo will put its six game win streak on the line this coming Saturday, Nov. 1 as they travel to Gunnison, Colo., for a 1 p.m. RMAC tilt against Western Colorado. The Pack enters the game having won 22 straight RMAC games dating to the 2023 season, which is currently the longest active conference win streak in Division II football and they have also won 13 straight road games dating to the 2023 season and that is also the longest active road win streak in Division II football.
