PUEBLO, Colo. – After winning its sixth consecutive game on Saturday at Black Hills State, the Colorado State University Pueblo football team jumped two spots to No. 7 and remained ranked No. 9 in this week's latest AFCA Division II Coaches' and D2Football.com polls that were released Monday.
In this week's eighth national Division II football polls of the 2025 season, the ThunderWolves, who improved to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference following its 40-14 win on Saturday at Black Hills State, advanced from No. 9 to No. 7 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll presented by HUDL and remained ranked No. 9 in the latest D2Football.com Media Top 25 Poll.
The Pack received 563 points in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll to sit 23 points in front of No. 8 Central Washington (6-1) and 28 points behind No. 6 Western Colorado (7-0), who the Pack will play in Gunnison, Colo., on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Mountaineers, who improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in the RMAC following its 34-13 win Saturday at South Dakota Mines, was ranked No. 5 last week.
CSU Pueblo continues to be one of three RMAC schools either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AFCA poll and one of two league schools ranked in the Top 10 of the D2Football.com poll. Besides the Pack in the AFCA poll, Western Colorado (7-0) fell one spot to No. 6, while Chadron State (6-2 overall) was one of nine schools to earn votes this week as they Eagles received nine votes after improving to 6-0 in the RMAC with its 41-0 road win last weekend over Fort Lewis. In the D2Football.com poll, Western Colorado remained ranked No. 5.
In this week's latest polls, Ferris State (7-0) and Harding (7-0) continue to sit No. 1 and No. 2 in both polls again this week as Ferris State earned 750 points and 30 first place votes in the AFCA poll, while Harding earned 719 points this week. Behind Ferris State and Harding in the AFCA poll is West Florida (7-0) at No. 3, Kutztown (7-0) at No. 4 and Augustana (7-0) jumped one spot to No. 5.
Meanwhile, in the D2Football.com poll, Kutztown (Pa.) remains at No. 3 and is followed at No. 4 by West Florida and Western Colorado at No. 5.
CSU Pueblo will have a bye this weekend before returning to the football field on Saturday, Nov. 1 with a 1 p.m. showdown in Gunnison, Colo., against sixth-ranked Western Colorado. The Pack has won 22 straight RMAC games dating to the 2023 season, which is currently the longest active conference win streak in Division II football and they have also won 13 straight road games dating to the 2023 season and that is also the longest active road win streak in Division II football.
