ThunderWolves take series from Lopers

Pack earns first road series win over Kearney since 2007, remains tied for first.

KEARNEY, Neb. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 1, 2012) - CSU-Pueblo turned in an all-around gem Sunday at Nebraska-Kearney, dominating the Lopers in a 15-4 win, remaining in a tie for first place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Behind a stellar outing from starting pitcher Sean Gavin (Jr., Canyon Country, Calif.), who won his second straight decision after allowing eight hits over eight innings of work, CSU-Pueblo continued to ride its offense to its 11th win in the past 12 games.

J.T. Greenhood (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) had the most productive day from a run-producing standpoint, going 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and two runs scored.  In the process, he extended his hit streak to 18 games.

Derek DiCarlo (Sr., Louisville, Colo.) also performed admirably from the nine-hole in the lineup, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored.

In all, the ThunderWolves turned in 16 hits, 10 of which were extra base hits, turning in a remarkable team OPS of 1.258 in the game.

With the victory, CSU-Pueblo improves to 18-12 overall and 15-5 in RMAC play, remaining tied for the RMAC lead with Colorado Mesa.

Next weekend, CSU-Pueblo will host cellar-dwelling Colorado Christian for a four-game set at Rawlings Field.
