PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo baseball had three players named to the Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Communicators (formally known as CoSIDA) that was announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
The three Pack players recognized as Academic All-District Baseball Team selections were junior utility player
Jason Arriola (Riverside, Calif./Norco), senior pitcher
Alex Oliver (Grove, Okla./Coffeyville CC) and senior pitcher
Luke Ruby (Fort Collins, Colo./Resurrection Christian). Ruby is now a two-time CSC Academic District selection and will advance to the Academic All-American ballot and the CSC Academic All-America Baseball Team will be announced on June 23. The Academic All-America national ballot will be voted on by CSC members.
To be eligible for selection to the CSC Academic All-District Baseball Team, student-athletes must have a 3.50 or higher GPA. They must have also either played in 90 percent of the team's games or start at least 66 percent of the team's games and baseball pitchers were required to make 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. In addition, transfers were also eligible and schools were limited to a total of five nominations.
Arriola earns his first-career Academic All-District honor after carrying a 3.55 cumulative GPA in Criminology and Sociology. On the season, Arriola hit .301 with 49 hits, 45 runs scored, 11 doubles, a team-leading four triples, nine home runs and a team-leading 52 RBI. He recorded a .583 slugging percentage and a .401 on-base percentage as he walked 22 times and was 10-for-11 on stolen bases. He tallied 14 multi-hit games and had a team-high tying 12 multiple RBI games.
Oliver earns his first-career Academic All-District accolade after carrying a 3.74 cumulative GPA in Economics/Finance. On the season, Oliver was 2-1 with a 5.01 ERA and was second on the team in appearances with 19 and tallied one of the Pack's seven saves this season. In 23.1 innings of work, he allowed 33 hits, 20 runs (13 earned runs), while walking seven and striking out 24. He was one of six Pack pitchers to record 20 or more strikeouts on the season.
Ruby repeats as an Academic All-District honoree after carrying a 3.65 cumulative GPA in Computer Information Systems. Ruby, who was named a First-Team All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection and a Second-Team NCBWA All-South Central Region selection, ranked third on the team in both innings pitched (53.0) and strikeouts (36) and was tied for fifth in appearances with 13. He also made eight starts and was 2-2 with a 5.09 ERA and recorded just 20 walks. During the recently completed 2026 season, Ruby had five or more strikeouts in six of his 13 outings, including a season-high five strikeouts against Regis and Adams State. In RMAC play, he posted a 1-1 record and a 5.60 ERA in eight appearances, six of them starts. In 35.1 innings, he allowed 47 hits, 26 runs (22 earned runs), while striking out 19 and walking 14.
Arriola and Oliver were both named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll for baseball, while Ruby was tabbed a First-Team RMAC All-Academic Baseball selection.
Arriola, Oliver and Ruby and the rest of the Pack baseball team finished the season with a 27-28 overall record and was fourth in the RMAC with an 18-14 record. The Pack went 1-2 at the RMAC Tournament with the lone win being a 9-8 10 inning victory over top-seeded and No. 2 ranked Colorado Mesa.
