- No. 15 Colorado State University Pueblo men's golf saw its 2025-26 season come to an end Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Super Regional at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California, as the ThunderWolves narrowly missed out on a return trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship.
Despite falling just short of advancing, the ThunderWolves once again proved why they have become one of the premier programs in the region under Head Coach Josh Koschke, making their ninth consecutive postseason appearance and battling until the final holes of the tournament in a loaded 20-team field.
CSU Pueblo finished the 54-hole tournament in 10th place at 7-over par as a team, missing the cut for nationals by just three strokes. The NCAA advanced the top six teams from the super regional to the national championship later this month at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
Western Washington claimed the super regional title after finishing at 8-under par as a team, while West Texas A&M finished runner-up at 5-under par. Cal State East Bay secured a third-place finish, while Colorado Christian and Cal State San Marcos tied for fourth place to earn national championship bids. The sixth and final qualifying spot went to Cal State San Bernardino.
Leading the way for the ThunderWolves was senior captain Archie Wyatt, who punched his ticket to the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championship as an individual qualifier. Wyatt, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland and a fan favorite throughout the Pueblo community, finished tied for fourth overall at 3-under par for the tournament. The NCAA awards national championship berths to the top two individuals not on advancing teams.
Wyatt capped off a tremendous week with rounds of 71, 69, and 73 to become the second straight ThunderWolf individual qualifier for nationals after Agustin Pizzorno earned a berth one season ago. Wyatt opened the tournament with a 1-under 71 before firing one of the best rounds of the tournament on Tuesday with a 3-under 69. He closed the week with a steady 1-over 73 to cement his spot at nationals and continue his remarkable senior campaign.
Wyatt will now head back to a familiar venue in Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, just outside of Las Vegas, for the NCAA Division II National Championship scheduled for May 18-22. The ThunderWolves have competed at Boulder Creek Golf Club during each of the last two RMAC Championships, giving Wyatt valuable experience on the national championship course as he prepares to represent CSU Pueblo on the national stage.
Agustin Pizzorno turned in the second-best finish for CSU Pueblo this week, finishing tied for 42nd at 3-over par. The veteran showcased impressive consistency throughout the tournament, carding rounds of 73 in all three rounds.
Senior standout Marius Dosiere finished tied for 46th at 4-over par in the final tournament of his collegiate career. The Frenchman, who spent much of the season ranked among the top individual golfers in Division II, rebounded after a difficult opening round of 77 by closing with rounds of 72 and 71 over the final two days. Dosiere leaves CSU Pueblo as one of the most accomplished golfers in program history and a major reason for the sustained success of ThunderWolf golf.
Kyle Leydon added another solid performance for the Pack, finishing tied for 56th at 5-over par. After opening with a 3-over 75, Leydon responded with back-to-back rounds of 1-over 73 to close the tournament strong.
Paraic McGrath rounded out the scoring lineup for CSU Pueblo, finishing tied for 60th overall. The Irishman improved each round throughout the week, shooting 75, 74, and 73 to finish at 6-over par.
Head Coach Josh Koschke said after the round, "I love this team and group of seniors, not advancing was tough for all of us. We are brothers, we will cherish the opportunities we got and the love we had for each other. This group will be remembered for so many accomplishments on the golf course, but off the course these were the best young men you could ask to coach, represent your university and go to battle with. Proud to be their coach, I will be a better man because of them!"
The ThunderWolves also bid farewell to one of the most successful senior classes in program history, a group that helped establish CSU Pueblo as a perennial regional contender and one of the top programs in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Wyatt, Dosiere, Pizzorno, and Pueblo native Evan Smith all leave behind a lasting legacy after helping the ThunderWolves dominate the RMAC and consistently compete on the national stage throughout their careers.
While the team's season came to an end just shy of a national championship berth, CSU Pueblo once again demonstrated the championship standard that has been built in Southern Colorado under Koschke's leadership. The ThunderWolves now turn their attention toward nationals later this month, where Wyatt will represent the Pack on the game's biggest stage.
