COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Thursday afternoon that Colorado State University Pueblo senior women's golfer Lisa Ekberg (Kungsbacka, Sweden) has been named the RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week for the second consecutive week following her outstanding performance at the West Texas A&M Invitational.
With Ekberg earning her second straight weekly honor, the ThunderWolves have now claimed all three RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week awards handed out during the 2026-27 season. Junior Yale Lee captured the conference's first weekly honor on Sept. 17, while Ekberg has taken home the award in each of the last two weeks.
Ekberg earned her latest recognition after putting together one of the most impressive individual performances of the tournament, finishing fourth overall at three-under-par 210 against a loaded South Central Regional field at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.
After opening the 54-hole tournament with a six-over-par 77, Ekberg responded in remarkable fashion, firing back-to-back rounds in the 60s to climb the individual leaderboard. The senior carded a four-under-par 67 in the second round before closing the tournament with a scorching five-under-par 66 in the final round.
Over her final 36 holes, Ekberg played an incredible nine-under-par, showcasing her ability to bounce back against some of the top competition in the South Central Region.
Her final-round 66 featured a one-under-par 34 on the front nine before she caught fire on the back nine, recording a four-under-par 32 to secure her fourth-place individual finish.
Ekberg's outstanding performance helped lead the ThunderWolves to a fifth-place team finish at 34-over-par 886. After opening the tournament with a 28-over-par 312, CSU Pueblo responded with consecutive rounds of three-over-par 287, including the second-best team score of the final round.
The weekly recognition continues an impressive stretch for the ThunderWolves, who have dominated the conference's weekly honors through the first three weeks of the fall season. Lee opened the season by earning RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week honors after capturing the individual championship and helping lead CSU Pueblo to the team title at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational, while Ekberg has followed with back-to-back selections.
Ekberg's latest honor also adds to a strong 2026 calendar year for the senior, who previously earned RMAC Women's Golfer of the Week recognition on March 26 following her co-medalist performance at the Southern Colorado Open.
The ThunderWolves entered the 2026-27 season as the RMAC preseason favorites after capturing four consecutive RMAC championships and making their first-ever appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships last spring.
