COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado State University Pueblo Swimming opened Day One of the 2026 Colorado College Classic Friday evening at Colorado College, as the ThunderWolves made the most of a small but mighty group in distance events.
With just three swimmers competing on the opening day, the Pack wasted no time making noise. Freshman standout Andrea Reyes delivered a statement performance in the 1650 freestyle, surging to a runner up performance of 18:36 to give CSU Pueblo an early individual win.
Another freshman, Sarah Fransson, followed with a strong showing of her own in the same event on the women's side, finishing third overall after touching the wall in 19:13. Veteran leader Alexsandra Dutkowiak rounded out the ThunderWolves' Day One efforts, placing fourth with a time of 19:37, adding valuable experience and consistency for the Pack.
Team scores have not yet been finalized, but CSU Pueblo's distance swimmers set the tone early with disciplined, competitive performances to open the meet.
The ThunderWolves return to the pool Saturday for Day Two of the Colorado College Classic, continuing competition at Sheselman Natatorium in Colorado Springs.
