TYLER, Texas – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's tennis team concluded play here Friday as they went 1-3 on the second day of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Central Regional Championships held here at the Summers Tennis Center.

CSU Pueblo, which sent players to the event, as four of them play in the 'A' Singles Draw and two played in the 'B' Singles Draw, which featured three pool play rounds. Meanwhile, two of the doubles teams played in the 'A' Draw, and the third doubles team played in the 'B' pool play draw.

In Friday's second day of the action, junior Yelena Travica (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Maples Collegiate) began the day with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Lubbock Christian's Alexa Irazabal in her final match in Group 3 of Singles 'B' Draw. Travica finished the tournament with a 2-1 record in singles as she won 34 of the 57 games she played.

Travica was the only Pack player to play in singles on Friday as the Pack's other two matches on Friday were in doubles.

Senior Margot Aebischer (Etupes, France/Eastern Arizona College) and freshman Fernanda Martinez (Queretaro, Mexico/International School of Queretaro) fell 8-0 in the Consolation round quarterfinals of the 'A' Draw Doubles to Lubbock Christian's duo of  Andrea De Bernardo and Axelle Jacquemin. Aebischer and Martinez finished the tournament with a 1-2 mark in doubles.

The final match of the day came in the 'B' Doubles Draw Group 1 as Travica and sophomore MaKayla Martinez (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo County) 8-5 to UTPB's duo of Sophia Crosby and Senna Kingsmith. Travica and Martinez went 1-2 in doubles as they won seven of the 23 games played.

For the event, the four Pack players – Aebischer, Martinez, senior Bella Hernandez (Rocklin, Calif./MSU Denver) and senior Laney Reddick (Sacramento, Calif./MSU Denver) - played in the Singles 'A' Draw and went 0-2, while Travica went 2-1 in Singles 'B' Draw, while McKayla Martinez was 1-2.

In doubles, Aebischer and Martinez went 1-2 in the 'A' Doubles Draw, while Martinez and Reddick went 0-2 in the 'A' Doubles Draw.

Friday's play concluded the Pack's fall schedule as the ThunderWolves will open its spring schedule on Sunday, Feb. 1, as they play two matches in Albuquerque, N.M., against both the University of New Mexico (1 p.m.) and Western New Mexico (4 p.m.).
