PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Baseball concludes the home portion of its 2025 schedule here this weekend with a four-game Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference series against Adams State University.
The two teams open the four-game set with their annual Pack the Pack game on Friday, April 25 at Runyon Field in Pueblo beginning at 6:05 p.m., before transitioning back to Rawlings Field for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26 beginning at 1 p.m., before concluding the series with a Senior Day nine inning game on Sunday, April 27 at noon. Before Sunday's game, the Pack will honor its 17-member Senior class in a pregame ceremony.

The ThunderWolves come into this weekend's series with Adams State, having won seven of their last 10 games overall, and are sporting a 25-17 overall record and are fourth in the RMAC standings with a 15-9 record. Since splitting a four-game series at home against Regis on April 21-23, the Pack has won three of its last four RMAC series after splitting its four-game set last weekend at home against MSU Denver. The two wins over MSU Denver helped the Pack secure one of the six spots in the 2025 RMAC Tournament, which is scheduled for May 7-10 at the home site of the regular season league champion.
The Pack is playing its fourth and final RMAC series at home this weekend as they are 7-5 at home in league play and are 8-4 on the road in RMAC play. Overall, the Pack is 14-12 at home this season and they have won four of its last six home game since a 12-6 loss to Mines on April 6.
CSU Pueblo and Adams State have met 76 times previously on the diamond since 2013. The Pack holds a 57-19 all-time lead in the series as the Pack has won two straight games and six of the last 10 games overall in the series. The Pack is 36-9 in the series at home, and also leads 21-10 in Alamosa and the Pack holds a 46-17 lead all-time in conference games. Last season, the Pack took three of four games against the Grizzlies, including earning a 15-3 run-ruled win in eight innings in the Pack the Pack Game at Runyon Field.
Following this weekend's four-game home RMAC series against Adams State, the Pack will close out the regular season on the road next weekend (May 1-3) as they travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a four-game series at UCCS. The series will begin with a single game on Thursday, May 1, at noon, before playing a doubleheader on Friday, May 2, at noon and concluding the series with a single game starting at noon on Saturday, May 3.
PACK THE PARK
Reminder fans that Friday's game at 6 p.m. will be CSU Pueblo Baseball's Annual Pack the Park Night. The game will be held at Runyon Field in Pueblo, with a youth clinic beginning at 3:00 p.m.
The clinic, which starts at 3 p.m., and the game, which begins at 6:05 p.m., are free to the public and prizes will be raffled off before the start of the CSU Baseball game and between innings of the baseball game.

Coaches and players from the CSU Pueblo baseball and softball programs and local high schools will provide instruction for the clinic, which is open to K-8 players. Each participant at the clinic will receive a free T-shirt, hot dog, chips, and a drink.
Participants are asked to wear their uniforms and bring their gloves and bats. They will be instructed in hitting, fielding, throwing, and pitching.

ABOUT CSU PUEBLO
Heading into this weekend's action, the Pack is fourth in the league in hitting with a .347 batting average. They've recorded 466 hits, scored 395 runs, hit 115 doubles, an RMAC-leading 22 triples, and 43 home runs. The Pack is averaging 9.4 runs per game, which is fourth in the RMAC and 13th nationally, and has tallied double-digit runs in three of its last four games and 17 times overall on the season. Along with leading the league in triples (22), Pack is second in doubles with 115, which is third nationally in Division II, and is third in the league in both walks (202) and hit by pitches (78). The 22 triples are tied for 10th on the school's single-season chart.
Leading the way offensively for the Pack is Castaneda, who leads the team in hits (64), doubles (18), home runs (9), RBI (57), at-bats (148), walks (28), and has a 1.266 OPS and a .736 slugging percentage. In addition, he is tied for second in runs scored (47) and is 12-for-13 on stolen bases. He ranks in the Top 10 in the RMAC in batting average, hits, doubles, on-base percentage (.530), walks, and RBI. He enters the weekend riding a 50-game reached base streak dating to last season, as he has been on base in all 42 games this season and has hit safely in 40 of the Pack's 42 games.
Reginato is the team's No. 2 hitter as he enters the weekend with a .401 batting average, leads the team in multi-hit games with 20, and has had nine multiple-RBI games. He has recorded 55 hits, scored 38 runs, hit 10 doubles, three triples, 36 RBI, and is 14-for-16 on stolen bases. Reginato enters the weekend riding an 11-game hit streak, which is the longest active streak on the team.
One of the hottest hitters for the Pack is freshman center fielder and designated
Noah Williams (Carson, Calif./Redondo Union) as he is hitting .465 (20-for-43) over his last 12 games and has tallied a .930 slugging percentage, a .537 on-base percentage and a 1.467 OPS. On the season, Williams is hitting .379 as he has tallied 55 hits and leads the team in runs scored (49), triples (6), home runs (9), and stolen bases (22). His six triples are tops in the league and fifth nationally in Division II, while his 22 stolen bases are third-most in the league. Williams has recorded 17 multi-hit games and 11 multiple RBI games.
Borjas has also had a hot bat over his last 12 games as he is hitting .435 (20-for-46) over that span and has tallied a .674 slugging percentage and a 1.193 OPS. On the season, Borjas is hitting .374 as he has tallied 55 hits, scored 47 runs, hit 10 doubles, four triples, seven home runs and 45 RBI and has a .639 slugging percentage and a 1.078 OPS. He has tallied 14 multi-hit games and leads the team in multiple RBI games with 14.
Castaneda, Reginato, Borjas, Williams, Howard and Mansour have each recorded 30 or more hits, and 20 or more runs scored. Howard has tallied 30 hits and scored 25 runs and is third on the team in home runs with seven, while Mansour has had 34 hits, scored 34 runs, and has walked 27 times, which is fifth in the RMAC.
The Pack's 43 home runs are seventh-most in the league, along with Castaneda and Williams' team-high tying nine home runs, Borjas and Howard have each hit seven, junior designated hitter

Logan Kelly (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Capistrano Valley Christian) have each hit two homers. Four others have hit one homer each.
The Pack leads the league in stolen bases with 92, as they are 92-for-120 on the season. Williams is third in the RMAC with 22 stolen bases, while Reginato is 14-for-16 on steals and Castaneda is 12-for-12 on stolen bases. Reginato is fourth in the league in steals. The 92 stolen bases this year are seventh on the school's single-season charts.
On the mound, the Pack has the fourth-best ERA in the league at 8.12. The Pack's pitching staff is second in the league in strikeouts (296) and is also second in the league in both strikeouts per nine innings (8.0) and fourth in WHIP (1.90). The Pack's pitchers have struck out 296 batters in 331.1 innings of work, and opposing hitters are batting .339 on the season. In addition, the Pack's pitchers have walked 151 batters and have hit 57 opposing batters, which is sixth in the RMAC.
The top starter for the Pack is senior
Travis Farrell (Las Vegas, Nev./Otero JC). Farrell enters the week leading the RMAC in ERA (4.84), leads the league in wins (7) and is tied for second in the league in strikeouts (51) and third in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.00). Farrell, who is 7-2 this season, has made 10 starts and has had five quality starts, and has recorded five or more strikeouts in seven of his 10 starts. He leads the league in innings pitched at 57.2 and has walked just 17 batters on the year.
In addition to Farrell, Perry is 4-2 with a 10.18 ERA. In 40.2 innings, he has recorded 39 strikeouts and walked just 14, while junior
Luke Ruby (Fort Collins, Colo./Resurrection Christian) is 1-3 with an 8.22 ERA. In 30.2 innings, he has struck out 29 and walked just 12, and has allowed 43 hits and 32 runs (28 earned runs).
Another strong arm the Pack has relied on lately in the starting rotation is redshirt junior pitcher
Jacob Petersheim (Broadway, Va./Broadway). Petersheim, who was named last week's RMAC Pitcher of the Week, is tied for the team lead in appearances with 13 and has made five starts. He has tossed 42.2 innings, which is the second-most on the team, including 19 innings in relief. He is 4-2 with a 7.17 ERA and has recorded 39 strikeouts and walked just seven batters and is second in the league and is 26th nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.57) and is second in the RMAC in walks allowed per nine innings (1.48). He has started four straight games and is 3-1 and has tossed 20 innings and allowed 20 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) while striking out 15 and walking five.
In addition to Petersheim, the Pack bullpen has been led by sophomore
Jack Novak (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Thunder Ridge), who is 2-1 with a 3.26 ERA and is tied for the team lead with 13 appearances and has earned three saves, which is fifth in the RMAC. In 19.1 innings, he has allowed 13 hits and 10 runs (seven earned), while striking out 10 and walking a team-high 15. Along with Novak, junior
Alex Oliver (Grove, Okla./Coffeyville CC) has a save as he is 0-1 with a 7.79 ERA in 11 appearances. In 17.1 innings, he has allowed 25 hits and 18 runs (15 earned), while walking 10 and fanning 16 and junior Jake Olgin-Pacheo (Denver, Colo./Horizon) is 1-0 with a 10.03 ERA in 11 appearances and three starts. In 23.1 innings of work, he has struck out 19 and walked 11.
Defensively, the Pack is second in the RMAC in fielding percentage at .968 as they have committed just 45 errors in 1,408 fielding chances and have turned 30 double plays, which is third-most in the RMAC. The 45 errors are the second fewest in the league behind Colorado Mesa's 38 errors.
Leading the Pack this season is
Bobby Applegate, who is in his fourth season as the program's head coach. Applegate, who was the Colorado Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year in 1995 playing for the time University of Southern Colorado, has compiled a 103-97 overall record at his alma mater and is 66-54 mark in RMAC games. Applegate won his 100th game with the Pack in its 20-6 victory in the Pack's first game of its doubleheader at New Mexico Highlands on April 12.
ABOUT ADAMS STATE
Adams State, who has already qualified for the RMAC Tournament, comes into this weekend's series with CSU Pueblo having won four straight games and six of its last 10 games overall and is sporting a 17-25 overall record and is fifth in the RMAC with a 13-11 record. The Grizzlies are fresh off a four-game sweep at home last weekend against New Mexico Highlands where they scored a total of 61 runs in the series and outscored the Cowboys, 61-18, including opening the series with a 19-1 win. Prior to the sweep of New Mexico Highlands, ASU was swept in a four-game series at Colorado Mesa and split a four-game series at home against MSU Denver.
In the Preseason RMAC Coaches' Poll, the Grizzlies were tabbed to finish tied for sixth with UCCS as they earned 25 points. Last season, ASU tied for fourth in the RMAC standings with a 19-13 league mark and posted a 24-28 overall record.
Statistically, Adams State is seventh in the league in hitting with a .313 average (416-for-1,328) as a team. The Grizzlies have recorded 416 hits, scored 295 runs, hit 91 doubles, six triples, 65 home runs and have recorded 276 RBI. ASU is averaging 7.0 runs per game, which is seventh in the league and are fourth in home runs per game as they average 1.55 per game.
Leading the offensive charge for ASU is freshman outfielder Josiah Hall. Hall is fourth in the league with a .426 batting average and he is tied for the team lead in hits with 52 and has scored 34 runs, and leads the team in doubles (15), home runs (14) and RBI (43). He has a .893 slugging percentage, a .503 on-base percentage and a 1.396 OPS.
In addition to Hall, senior outfielder Josh Parks is hitting .400 as he has recorded 38 hits, scored 24 runs, hit 12 doubles, nine home runs and had had 36 RBI and has an .811 slugging percentage, while junior outfielder Ayden Tauscher is tied for the team lead in hits with 52 and leads the team in runs scored with 39 and has hit 13 doubles, one triple, three home runs and is 13-for-16 on stolen bases. Tauscher is hitting .356 on the year.
Senior catcher/pitcher Phil Carter is fourth in the league in home runs with 13 and has recorded 37 hits, scored 24 runs and had a .812 slugging percentage and a 1.254 OPS.
On the mound, ASU is seventh in the league in ERA at 9.61. The Grizzles have struck out 241 batters in 309 innings pitched. They have recorded seven saves, which is tied for third-most in the league and have walked 152 hitters and hit 56.
ASU's top starting pitcher is senior Brian Walters. Walters is 4-5 with a 7.82 ERA. He has made 11 appearances and 10 starts and in 50.2 innings of work, he has struck out 40 and walked 28. He leads the team in innings pitched, strikeouts and hit batsman (14).
In addition to Walters, graduate student Cesar Loma is 2-8 with a 10.88 ERA as he has made appearances and 11 starts. In 48 innings of work, he has recorded 39 strikeouts and 26 walks, while freshman Joseph Marek is 4-2 with an 8.02 ERA. He has made nine appearances and seven starts and in 42.2 innings, has struck out 34 and walked 29.
The go-to arm out of the bullpen this season has been Carter as he leads the team in appearances with 15 and has made three starts. He is 4-4 with a 6.57 ERA and in 37 innings, he has struck out 25 and walked eight and has recorded a save.
Along with Carter, redshirt senior Ty Addington is 0-0 with a four saves and a 6.75 ERA. He has made eight appearances and tossed eight innings, while striking out 10 and walking one, while sophomore Justin Arellano is 1-0 with a save and a 6.57 ERA. In 12.1 innings, he has struck out five and walked two.
Defensively, ASU is tied for third in the league in fielding percentage at .964. The Grizzlies have turned 28 double plays, which is sixth-most in the league and have committed 48 errors in 1,318 fielding chances.
Adams State is coached by Bruce DelTondo, who is in his fifth season at his alma mater. DelTondo has compiled a 69-154 overall record and has led the program to back-to-back appearances in the RMAC Tournament.
