DENVER, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo football team had a total of 29 players named to the 2024 Colorado Chapter/National Football Foundation's (NFFCC) Academic All-Colorado selections which were announced Tuesday by the organization.
The ThunderWolves placed 18 players on the first team and had another 11 players named to the honorable mention squad. The total of 29 players selected ranked fourth among the Centennial State's 10 football programs across all NCAA Divisions. The Pack's 18 first-team selections were tied with Fort Lewis College for the fifth most in the state. First-Team Academic All-Colorado selections maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above, while Honorable Mention All-Colorado selections have a GPA ranging from 3.0 to 3.29.
Overall, a near record 279 student-athletes were named Academic All-Colorado (a record 192 first-team, 87 honorable mention) this season. Eleven members of the first team were also selected either first- or second-team All-Colorado for their play on the field in 2024, including two of the players of the year: Colorado wide receiver/defensive back Travis Hunter (defense) and Colorado School of Mines punter Blake Doud (special teams).
Colorado School of Mines led the way with 48 overall selections, including 31 first-team honorees. Colorado Mesa was second with 42 selections, including a state-best 33 first-team selections, while Colorado was third with 41 selections, including 27 first teamers. Colorado State was fifth with 27 selections (14 first team), Fort Lewis was sixth with 24 selections (18 first team) and Northern Colorado was seventh with 22 selections (16 first team). Western Colorado was eighth with 20 selections (20 first team), Air Force was ninth with 18 selections (7 first team) and Adams State was 10th with eight selections (8 first team).

Jon Nuschy (La Junta, Colo./University of Northern Colorado) was one of 10 finalists for the Colorado Chapter/NFF Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The average grade point average for the 10 finalists for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award computed to 3.76.
Nuschy, who was named a semifinalist for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, was a 2024 First-Team Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection and a 2023 CSC Academic All-District Team selection, was third on team in tackles in 2024 with 78 tackles, including 35 solo stops and added 5.5 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, two pass break-ups, two quarterback hurries and finished collegiate career with 239 career tackles, including 114 solo stops, had 12.5 career tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, seven pass breakups, and one forced fumble. Nuschy, who was named a 2023 First-Team Colorado Chapter/NFF Academic All-Colorado selection and was a two-time Honorable Mention All-RMAC selection, recorded over 70 tackles in each of his final three seasons, including a team-leading 84 tackles as a junior in 2023.
Air Force Academy senior placekicker Matthew Dapore was named the 2024 Colorado Chapter/NFF Scholar-Athlete of the Year as the semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy and carries a 3.53 cumulative grade point average in his major, Systems Engineering, with an Aeronautical Engineer focus with a GPA of 3.95.
