Rakowsky Named 2025 CSC Second-Team Football Academic All-American

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Colorado State University Pueblo senior wide receiver Zack Rakowsky (Loveland, Colo./Loveland) was one of 45 NCAA Division II football student-athletes named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Football Team that was announced by the organization on Tuesday.

Rakowsky earned Second-Team Academic All-America honors for the second time in his collegiate career, as he was named Second-Team Academic All-America in 2023. Rakowsky becomes the first Pack football player to earn repeat Academic All-America honors since Preston Guerra was named a first team selection in both 2019 and 2020.

With his selection, Rakowsky becomes CSU Pueblo's 19th football player to earn Academic All-America honors and the first Pack student-athlete to earn CSC Academic All-America accolades this season.

The CSC Academic All-America teams, nominated and selected by Sports Information professionals from across the country, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be considered for a CSC Academic All-America team, student-athletes must complete 90 percent of their institution's games or start in at least 66 percent of its games. Additionally, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50.

Rakowsky, who was one of six Pack football players to earn CSC Academic All-District honors this season, earns his Second-Team Academic All-America honor after carrying a 3.62 cumulative GPA as a Health Science major at CSU Pueblo. Rakowsky is also a four-time member of the RMAC Football Academic Honor Roll and was named to the RMAC Football All-Academic First Team this season.

Along with his excellence in the classroom, the receiver earned Honorable Mention All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) honors for the second time (2023, 2025) and was a First-Team selection in 2024. During the 2025 season, Rakowsky caught 49 passes for 560 yards and had one touchdown reception, averaged 11.4 yards per catch, and 56.0 receiving yards per game. He also returned four punts for 24 yards and averaged 6.0 yards per return, and tallied 584 all-purpose yards and averaged 58.4 all-purpose yards per game.

He finished his CSU Pueblo career second on the school's all-time receptions list (161), fourth in career receiving yards (2,134), and tied for eighth in career touchdown receptions (13). He is one of four receivers in school history with 2,000 or more receiving yards and returned 33 career punts for 270 yards and averaged 8.2 yards per return in his career and he tallied 17 career games with four or more receptions, including three double-digit reception games and five games with 100 or more receiving yards, including a high of 11 receptions for 118 yards in this year's regular season finale against Chadron State.

Rakowsky was one of six RMAC players named to the Division II CSC Academic All-America Team, as he was joined by Colorado Mesa junior receiver Trek Keyworth (First Team), Western Colorado junior linebacker Ian Loomis (First Team), Western Colorado senior quarterback Drew Nash (Second Team), Colorado Mesa senior defensive back Kash Bradley (Second Team) and Western Colorado graduate student offensive lineman Chance Wiening (Second Team). In addition, Rakowsky is one of 15 repeat NCAA Division II Academic All-America selections.

The four Academic All-America Football teams, between NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA levels, totaled 171 student-athletes with a combined 3.80 cumulative grade point average. The 45 Division II players selected Academic All-Americans combined to hold a collective average GPA of 3.80, including seven members with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
