Football Jumps Two Spots to No. 9 in Latest AFCA Division II Coaches and D2Football.com Media Polls

PUEBLO, Colo. – Thanks to its 49-13 Homecoming win on Saturday over Fort Lewis, the Colorado State University Pueblo football team moved back into the Top 10 at No. 9 in this week's latest AFCA Division II Coaches' and D2Football.com polls that were released Monday.

In this week's seventh weekly national Division II football polls of the season, the ThunderWolves, who are 6-1 on the season and 5-0 in the RMAC following its fifth consecutive victory of the season this past Saturday, jumped to No. 9 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches' Poll presented by Hudl and also jumped to No. 9 in the latest D2Football.com Media Top 25 Poll.
 
The Pack received 520 points in this week's AFCA Coaches' Poll to sit 10 points in front of No. 10 Central Washington (5-1), who collected a 27-14 road win last Saturday over then sixth-ranked UT-Permian Basin, and is five points behind No. 8 West Alabama (5-0).

The Pack are one of three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools either ranked or receiving votes in the latest AFCA poll and one of two league schools ranked in the D2Football.com poll. Besides the Pack in the AFCA poll, Western Colorado (6-0) remained at No. 5 following its 56-17 home win last week over Black Hills State, while Chadron State (5-2) was one of 12 schools to earn votes this week as they Eagles received seven votes after improving to 5-0 in the RMAC with its 37-20 home win last weekend over New Mexico Highlands. In the D2Football.com poll, Western Colorado advanced one spot to No. 5 this week.

In this week's latest polls, Ferris State (6-0) and Harding (6-0) continue to sit No. 1 and No. 2 in both polls again this week as Ferris State earned 775 points and all 31 first place votes in the AFCA poll, while Harding earned 744 points this week. Behind Ferris and State and Harding in the AFCA poll is West Florida (6-0) at No. 3, Kutztown (6-0) at No. 4 and Western Colorado at No. 5. 

Meanwhile, in the D2Football.com poll, Kutztown (Pa.) remains at No. 3 and is followed at No. 4 by West Florida (6-0) and Western Colorado at No. 5.
 
CSU Pueblo will look to win its sixth consecutive game and improve to 7-1 overall and 6-0 in the RMAC this coming Saturday, Oct. 18 as the ThunderWolves travel to Spearfish, S.D., for a 1:05 p.m. RMAC tilt against Black Hills State (1-6 overall, 1-4 RMAC). The Pack enters the game having won 21 straight RMAC games dating to the 2023 season, which is currently the longest active conference win streak in Division II football and they have also won 12 straight road games dating to the 2023 season and that is also the longest active road win streak in Division II football.
