CANYON, Texas – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced on Thursday morning the 2024 Baseball All-South Central Region Teams.
Highlighting the all-region team for the Pack is pitcher
Tyler Curtis (Las Vegas, Nev./Southern Idaho), as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year continues to add more and more accolades to his resume.
In the last couple of weeks, Curtis has been name the RMAC Pitcher of the Year, First Team-All RMAC, and First-Team NCBWA All-South Central Region. Curtis also led the Pack to a 29-23 overall record on the season, including a postseason berth to the RMAC Tournament.
Curtis, who is one seven players from the RMAC named to the First-Team NCBWA All-South Central Region Team, finished the 2024 season tied for the RMAC lead in both wins (9) and complete games (3) and was second in the league in ERA (5.12), innings pitched (82.2) and strikeout-to-walk-ratio (4.53) and was third in the league in strikeouts (68).
On the season, Curtis made 13 starts and posted a 9-3 overall record and a 5.12 ERA. In 82.2 innings of work, he tossed three complete games, allowed 100 hits, 51 runs, 47 earned runs, while walking 15 and striking out a team-best 68. He recorded a 1/39 WHIP on the season and opposing hitting hit just .297 against the right-hander. He tossed six or more innings eight times and recorded six or more strikeouts in a start five times, including a career-high eight strikeouts against both UCCS and Adams State. His nine wins are 18th most in Division II this season, and he pitched a career-high nine innings against UCCS, which is tied for third-most innings in a game in school history.
Curtis was also recently signed by the Northern Colorado Owlz of the Pioneer League (an MLB Partner League).
