GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball team earned a 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award presented by Sports Attack as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
To be eligible for the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award a program must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.
The ThunderWolves baseball team closed the 2024-25 academic year with a 3.179 cumulative team GPA.
CSU Pueblo was one of five schools in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to earn an ABCA Team Excellence Award. The other RMAC schools honored were Adams State, MSU Denver, Regis and UCCS. In addition, the South Central Region had seven team achieve the honor. Overall, 88 NCAA Division II baseball teams were bestowed with the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award.
During the 2024-25 academic year, the Pack had 20 student-athletes finish the school year with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25. In addition, 13 baseball players (six in the fall, seven in the spring) earned 4.0 GPAs during a semester.
The six Pack baseball players that earned a 4.0 during the 2025 spring semester were junior pitcher
Cole Bloomer (Parker, Colo./Lamar CC), senior catcher
Brady Ingalls (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa), senior infielder Kolten Miller (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa), junior pitcher
Alex Oliver (Grove, Okla./Coffeyville CC), senior infielder
Cael Porter (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa), senior outfielder
Wyatt Reginato (Cottonwood, Calif./Folsom Lake) and senior infielder
Brad Stone (Las Vegas, Nev./College of Southern Nevada).
In addition, the Pack had two players, Reginato and junior pitcher
Luke Ruby (Fort Collins, Colo./Resurrection Christian) named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
On the field, CSU Pueblo completed the 2025 season with a 32-20 overall record and tied for third in the RMAC with a 22-10 record. The 32 wins were the most for the most for the program since posting a 41-16 record during the 2015 season, while the 22 RMAC wins were the most since going 28-10 in league play during the 2015 season. Christian Castaneda (El Paso, Texas/Otero JC) was named a First-Team All-American by both the NCBWA and D2CCA.
The ABCA has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/ATEC Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
