Women's Basketball Concludes Regular Season This Weekend On The Road

One Win This Weekend Clinches Postseason Berth

PUEBLO, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball squad concludes the regular season this weekend against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Regis as the Pack look to clinch a postseason berth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.

A win in either game for the Pack or a loss from Fort Lewis would clinch a spot for CSU Pueblo.

The ThunderWolves are coming off a 1-1 weekend, defeating Westminster (Utah) and dropping a game to Colorado Mesa. Tommie Johnson's squad sits in eighth place with a 16-12 overall record and an 11-9 mark in the RMAC. CSU Pueblo sits one game back of Black Hills State and Colorado Christian.

Eight teams qualify for the RMAC Tournament. CSU Pueblo has won five out of their last seven games, looking to solidify themselves in the postseason RMAC Tournament. This will be the first meeting against UCCS this season, but will be the second time the Pack face off against Regis.

ABOUT THE PACK
Redshirt junior forward Alisha Little (Aurora, Colo./Northern Colorado) is coming off being named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third straight week. She needs just 14 points to break the CSU Pueblo single season record for most points in a season and just 14 rebounds for the most rebounds in a CSU Pueblo single season.

Little also continues to lead the RMAC in scoring and rebounding as the dominant forward is scoring 20.4 points per game and is pulling down an average of 11.7 rebounds per game. She also continues to lead the conference in blocks at 3.4 per game and is the NCAA Division II leader in double-doubles with 21.

Redshirt junior forward Autumn Watts (Centennial, Colo./McNeese State) joins Little in the frontcourt as the other double-digit scorer on the team as she is averaging 10.1 points per game. Watts has scored in double-figures in nine out of her last eleven games.

Junior guard Tomia Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Florida Gulf Coast) continues to be one of the best two-way guards in the conference. Her defensive presence and command of the offense is crucial to the Pack. Johnson is fourth in the conference in assists at 3.7 per game and ninth in the conference in steals at 2.1 per game.

CSU Pueblo relies heavy on their strong defensive presence as they continue to be one of the better defensive units in the RMAC and in the nation. The Pack only allow 64 points per game and hold their opponents to just 37 percent shooting from the field.

The Pack continue to rally around the ball as they lead the conference in blocks at 5.4 per game and rank fourth nationally in that category. In addition, the pack average just under 10 steals per contest and pull down an average of 38.2 rebounds per game.

CSU Pueblo is led by Head Coach Tommie Johnson, who is in his fifth season at the helm. In his tenure as head coach, Johnson has put together a 64-68 overall record, and an RMAC record of 50-54. Johnson also spent 10 seasons as an assistant for the men's program from 2008-16, and played his college ball at UCCS.
