Three ThunderWolves Earn RMAC Academic Honors, Sweetwine Named First Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's basketball team was recognized for its excellence in the classroom Monday afternoon as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2025-26 Women's Basketball Academic All-RMAC Teams.

Leading the way for the ThunderWolves was veteran point guard Genesis Sweetwine, who earned First Team Academic All-RMAC honors after another impressive season both on the court and in the classroom. Sweetwine, who carries a 3.82 grade point average while majoring in Exercise Science, was one of 10 student-athletes selected to the conference's First Team Academic All-RMAC squad.

Sweetwine was also a key contributor for the ThunderWolves on the court during the 2025-26 campaign. The senior guard started all 28 games and averaged 9.9 points per game while leading CSU Pueblo with 127 assists. Sweetwine ranked second in the RMAC in assists and served as the primary facilitator for the Pack offense throughout the season, while also knocking down 40 three-pointers during the year.

Across the conference, Colorado Mesa's Olivia Reed Thyne was named the RMAC Women's Basketball Academic Player of the Year for the third consecutive season after posting a 3.92 GPA as a kinesiology major while also excelling on the court for the Mavericks.

In addition to Sweetwine's first-team honor, the ThunderWolves had three student-athletes recognized on the RMAC Women's Basketball Academic Honor Roll, including Sweetwine, Brooklyn Meza, and Destiny Smith.

Meza, who came on strong late in the season for the ThunderWolves, holds a 3.63 grade point average while pursuing her bachelor's degree in Psychology.

Smith was also honored for her academic success, posting a 3.67 GPA while working toward her degree in Nursing.

Overall, the RMAC recognized 65 women's basketball student-athletes across the conference on the Academic Honor Roll for the 2025-26 season.

The RMAC Academic Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA, have completed two consecutive semesters at their current institution, and have used a season of competition. Student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA to be nominated for the First Team Academic All-RMAC, which is voted on by the league's athletic communications directors.

The recognition highlights CSU Pueblo's continued commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom, as the ThunderWolves once again placed multiple student-athletes among the RMAC's top academic performers.
