COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Thursday afternoon released their 2024 Volleyball Major Award Winners, along with their All-Confernce teams.
Kaitlyn Hall (Colorado Springs, Colo./Falcon) highlighted the Pack's award winners, as the redshirt-freshman was announced as the conferences Freshman of the Year. Hall helped lead the Pack to another winning season, as the ThunderWolves finished 16-11 on the year, and 9-5 in RMAC play. Hall played in all 27 matches for the red and blue, putting together 248 kills on .273 hitting, and 50 digs.Â
Sadie Scoville (Pleasant Grove, Utah/Pleasant Grove) continued to show the nation that she is one of the best players in the country. The 2023 All-American was hindered this season by injury, but managed to still be named to the conferences first-team. If that does not show how dominant Scoville really is, I do not know what does. Scoville finished the season tied with the most kills on the squad with Hall at 248 kills, despite missing almost of month due to injury. She hit .245 on the season, and also led the ThunderWolves in digs with 207.Â
Golden Finch (Albuquerque, N.M./Cal State Bakersfield) proved that good things happen to good people. Finch, who did not play much at the beginning of the season, continued to grind, and eventually earned her way back into the rotation. Finch had an incredible second half to the season, finishing the year with 53 blocks and 74 kills, including a career-night on Nov. 9 in which she had 11 blocks, 10 kills, two digs, and 17 points, all career-highs. Finch was named an All-RMAC Honorable Mention member.
Rayliene Joens (Elkhorn, Neb./Winona State) was the true definition of the teams' motto: Culture Wins. The Pack were only lucky enough to have Joens for one season, but she was able to impact so many on and off the court, which will set the tone for years to come here in Pueblo. Joens, a lot like Scoville, battled injury this season, but when healthy and on the court, you could tell the difference it made for the Pack. Joens finished the season with 224 kills, while hitting .235, and 50 blocks, earning her a spot on the All-RMAC Honorable Mention squad.Â
