BISMARCK, N.D. (March 23, 2023) – The Bismarck Larks Surveyed the FIeld powered by Frontier Precision and found a new player to add to their 2023 roster. Colorado State University Pueblo pitcher Frank Wierman (Surprise, Ariz./Shadow Creek) will join the Larks pitching staff for the upcoming 2023 summer season.
Wierman, a left-handed pitcher, is currently playing in his sophomore season with the CSU Pueblo ThunderWolves.
"It will be great to have another guy on the team with a couple of years under his belt," said Larks Head Coach Will Flynt. "We need guys like that to help lead the team."
During his freshman season at CSU Pueblo, Wierman proved to be a difficult opponent on the mound. He recorded 39 strikeouts over 24.1 innings pitched. By the end of the season, Frank earned a winning record of 3-2, with a 4.44 ERA.
So far through the 2023 season, Wierman has already struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings pitched, a number that is sure to grow as the season progresses.
On February 25th of this year, Wierman made a great contribution to the Pack's victory over MSU Billings. Over two innings he struck out three batters and walked none.
Wierman will join the Larks 2023 pitching staff alongside returners Alec Danen and Garrett Yawn, as well as newcomers Logan Moser, Ryan Rumsey, Ricky Harrison, and Ryan Taylor.
The Larks 2023 season starts on May 29 at home against the Duluth (Minn.) Huskies.
The best way to see Larks games this summer is to be a Flock Member. It includes box seats, 3 innings of food and drinks, a jersey, a hat, and exclusive access to year-round events. Memberships start at just $108 for four games. The team is over 90 percent sold out of Flock Memberships for the upcoming season.
