PUEBLO, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo Baseball is scheduled to play three games this weekend as part of a pod of games against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference schools. All the games this weekend will count as non-conference contests.

The ThunderWolves open the weekend by hosting Colorado School of Mines on Friday, March 3 at 3 p.m. at Rawlings Field, before traveling to Denver, Colo., for a 2 p.m. game on Saturday, March 4 at Regis University and then returning home to host 13th-ranked MSU Denver on Sunday, March 5 at 1 p.m. at Rawlings Field.

CSU Pueblo, who is coached by Bobby Applegate, has gotten off to a slow start this season as the Pack comes into this weekend's action sporting a 1-10 overall record, including dropping three of four games at home last weekend against West Texas A&M and MSU Billings.

The Pack opened last weekend's games with a 3-1 win over MSU Billings on Feb. 25, before falling 18-12 to West Texas A&M on Feb. 26. The Pack then suffered back-to-back setbacks to MSU Billings to close the weekend as the Yellowjackets won last Sunday's suspended game, 12-10 and then captured a 19-10 win in this past Monday's series finale.

Seven of CSU Pueblo's first 11 games this season have played at Rawlings Field as they opened the season with a two-game series against then 16th-ranked St. Edwards, before playing a non-conference game against UCCS on Valentine's Day. In between last weekend's four games and the three games to open the 2023 campaign, the Pack played a four-game series on Feb. 17-19 at San Francisco State.

The Pack's offense has had trouble with runners on base this season as they have left a total of 93 runners on base in 11 games and is hitting just .276 on the season as a team. Only four starters in the line-up are hitting over .300 on the year with senior first baseman Reggie Williams (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County) leading the way with a .429 average, which is sixth-best in the RMAC.

CSU Pueblo has scored just 53 runs in their first 11 games, but has scored 10 or more runs in three consecutive games, including tallying a season high 12 runs last Sunday against West Texas A&M.

The Pack have recorded 28 extra base hits as they have had 23 doubles, two triples and three home runs, of which two have been pinch hit home runs as sophomore Brady Ingalls (Parker, Colo./Ponderosa) hit a 2-run pinch hit homer in the eighth inning against St. Edwards on Feb. 11 and freshman Cody Macias (San Diego, Calif./Granite Hills) drilled a 3-run pinch hit homer in the ninth inning of the series finale at San Francisco State.
