Davis Named Second-Team, Fairley and Tomia Johnson Earn Honorable Mention All-RMAC Honors

Davis Earns Her Fifth Career All-RMAC Honor

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released the All-Conference Women's Basketball Team on Wednesday morning and Colorado State University Pueblo landed three players on one of the league's three teams.
 
Graduate student guard JaNaiya Davis (Hewitt, Texas/Midway) earned Second-Team All-RMAC honors for the third time in five seasons with the Pack, while graduate student guard/forward Charisse Fairley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Fresno State) and sophomore guard Tomia Johnson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Florida Gulf Coast) earned Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors.
 
Davis closes out her five-year CSU Pueblo earning Second-Team All-RMAC honors for third time in her career. It was her fifth career All-RMAC selection as along with being a three-time second-team selection, she earned first-team honors in 2022 and was an honorable mention selection as a freshman in 2019. On the season, Davis averaged 9.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game and shot 43 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free throw line.
 
On the season, she led the team in rebounding, was seventh in the league in assists per game and fourth in the league in steals per game and is currently second among active Division II players in career steals and third in active Division II players in career assists.
 
She posted 11 double-digit scoring games on the season and had 56 in her career. She also tallied one 20-plus point game on the season and had 16 in her career and was tied for the team lead in double-doubles with two. Davis, who earned both an RMAC Offensive Player and Defensive Player of the Week during the 2022-23 regular season, closed her career third in career scoring with 1,502 points and is one of just three CSU Pueblo women's basketball players in school history to record 1,500 career points. She also holds the school's all-time record for career steals (308), career assists (525) and games played (131) and is second in career field goals made with 563.
 
Davis is joined on the All-RMAC Second-Team by Adams State freshman guard Harmanie Dominguez, Fort Lewis freshman guard Lanae Billy, MSU Denver senior guard Jaiden Galloway, New Mexico Highlands freshman guard Juliana Aragon, Regis senior guard/forward Sam Deem, Regis senior guard Josey Ryan, UCCS sophomore guare Maison White, Western Colorado senior guard Emmery Wagstaff and Westminster graduate student forward Lyndzi Rich.
 
Fairley earns Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors in her first season as a member of the ThunderWolves' after leading the team in scoring at 11.0 points per game and being second in rebounding at 5.1 and leading the team in blocked shots with 20. Fairley led the team in scoring eight times and had a team-leading 17 double-digit scoring games and was tied with Davis for a team-best two double-doubles and had a career-high 32 points at Chadron State earlier this season.
 
On the season, Fairley shot 39 percent from the field, made 49 treys, which were second-most on the team and shot 83 percentage from the free throw line in her lone season in Pueblo.
 
Johnson earns her Honorable Mention honor after averaging 6.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists and recording a team-best 54 steals in 2022-23. On the year, she shot 29 percent from the field and made 21 treys and scored in double figures in eight games and was led the team in steals in nine. The honorable mention honor is the first of Johnson's career.
 
Fairley and Johnson are joined on the Honorable Mention All-RMAC Team by Adams State's Kiiyani Anitielu, Adams State's Angelline Nageak, Adams State's Ellie Moore, Chadron State's Samiyah Worrell, Colorado Christian's Maggie Phipps, Colorado Mesa's Monica Brooks, Fort Lewis' Kelsey Sorenson, Regis' Erin Stroberg, South Dakota Mines' Piper Bauer, Western Colorado's Rachel Cockman and Westminster's Margarita Satini.                                                              
 
Along with announcing the All-RMAC Teams, the league also named their individual award winners as Regis junior guard Erin Fry was named the RMAC Player of the Year, while Colorado Mesa forward Olivia Reed was tabbed the RMAC Freshman of the Year and Colorado School of Mines redshirt senior guard/forward Sammy Van Sickle was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Year. The final award winner was Adams State's Mario Caetano was named the RMAC Coach of the Year.
 
Fry, Reed and Van Sickle were joined on the All-RMAC First-Team by Black Hills State's senior guard Danica Kocer, Black Hills State's senior guard Niki Van Wyk, Chadron State's Ashayla Powers, Colorado School of Mines senior guard Ashely Steffeck, Colorado School of Mines senior forward/center Megan Van de Graaf, MSU Denver's Kendra Parra and Westminster senior guard Ashley Greenwood.
 
CSU Pueblo was one of 11 schools to place multiple players on one of the three All-RMAC Teams as regular season champion Regis led the way with four overall selections, while the Pack, Black Hills State, Colorado School of Mines and Westminster each had three overall selections. Chadron State, Colorado Mesa, MSU Denver, Fort Lewis and Western Colorado had two selections each.
 
The CSU Pueblo trio of players helped lead the Pack to a second consecutive RMAC Tournament appearance as they finished the season with a 14-15 overall record and an 11-11 mark in the RMAC. The Pack concluded its 2022-23 season with a 72-57 setback on Tuesday night at top-seeded Regis in the quarterfinal round of the 2023 RMAC Tournament.
