Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (February 3, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's tennis team dropped its spring opener 7-0 against University of New Mexico, Friday at the City Park Tennis Courts.

In the match, the ThunderWolves won five sets including at No. 1 doubles, Sonrisa Bustamante (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) and Alyssa Wells (R-Jr., Converse City, Tex.) who took home one set win before falling 6-1.

At No. 1 singles, Tilly Blasdale (R-Jr., Dover, United Kingdom) went down in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

Malaya Pendon (So., Pueblo, Colo.) dropped her match in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) and Wells was taken down in the next singles match, also in straight 6-0, 6-0 sets.

Bustamante had the outing of the day and challenged her opponent to a 6-2, 6-1 defeat.

Avery Soto dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match in the last singles match of the afternoon.

CSU Pueblo returns to the court on Jan. 25 and host Hastings College at the City Park Tennis Courts.
