GUNNISON, Colo. – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's swimming and diving team return to the pool here Saturday afternoon as the ThunderWolves suffered a 171-108 defeat to Western Colorado in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference dual meet at the Paul Wright Natatorium.
With the dual loss setback, the Pack fall to 2-3 in dual meet action this season, while Western Colorado improved to 4-0 on the season.
In Saturday's meet, the Pack competed in 13 of the 16 events that were held in the dual meet.
The Pack won five individual events and captured first place in the 400-medley relay, which was the first event of the dual meet.
Junior
Paola C Wu (San Pedro Sula, Honduras/University of Indianapolis) and junior
Ashlee Urroz (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe CC) each won three events (two individual and the 400-medley relay), while the other individual event winner was freshman
Laci Denn (Egg Harbor Township, N.J./Mainland Regional).
C Wu's individual event wins came in the 200 butterfly with a winning time of 2:13.39 and also in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:31.08, while Urroz's event wins came in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.75) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.75). Denn earned his individual event win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:31.23.
The Pack opened Saturday's meet with a victory in the 400-medley relay as the 'A' Team posted a winning time of 4:05.06. The members of the winning relay team were sophomore

In addition to the 'A' Team, the Pack 'B' relay team finished fourth with a time of 4:22.42 and the 'C' relay team was sixth with a time of 4:49.67. The members of the 'B' Team were freshman
Margaret Laborde Lagrave (Sacramento, Calif./Saint Francis), Denn, junior
Andrea Gallardo Perez (Merida, Mexico/Iowa Central CC) and sophomore
Aleksandra Dutkowiak (Wroclaw, Poland/SMS Wroclaw), while the 'C' Team members were freshman
Abigail Boyle (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park), junior
Markina Evdokimoff (Joshua Tree, Calif./Yucca Valley), junior
Nalani Wess (Round Rock, Texas/Round Rock) and freshman
McKenna Schilling (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake).
The next event was the 1,000 freestyle as the Pack had its two competitors finish second and third as Gallardo Perez was second with a time of 12:13.76 and Evdokimoff was third with a time of 1:05.14.
Denn (2:01.89) and Boyle (2:15.73) were second and fourth in the 200 freestyle.
The next event was the 100 backstroke as Sanchez Guareno was second with a time of 1:02.64 and Laborde Lagrave was sixth with a time of 1:07.46.
Along with Urroz's win in the 100 breaststroke, Dannhaus recorded a second place finish with a time of 1:11.83.
In addition to C Wu's winning time in the 200 butterfly, Gallardo Perez was third in the event with a time of 2:24.10 and Wess was sixth with a time of 2:36.67.
Dutkowiak and Laborde Lagrave posted a third and eighth place finish in the shortest race of the day, the 50 freestyle, as they posted times of 26.96 and 27.96 respectively.
The next event was the 100 freestyle as Dutkowiak and Schilling were third and eighth with times of 58.51 and 1:02.35 respectively.
In the 200 backstroke, Sanchez Guareno and Boyle were second and third overall with times of 2:20.72 and 2:28.37 respectively.
Along with C Wu's win in the 200 breaststroke, Dannhaus finished third in the event with a time of 2:35.61.
The next event was the 500 freestyle and along with Denn's victory in the event, Schilling (6:05.60) and Evdokimoff (6:19.04) finished fourth and fifth overall.
In the 100 butterfly, Urroz was first and Wess touched the wall in fifth place with a time of 1:06.94.
The final event of the meet was the 400 freestyle relay as the 'A' Relay team was second with a time of 3:47.85, while the 'B' Relay team was third with a time of 4:00.31. The members of the 'A' team were Dutkowiak, Sanchez Guareno, C Wu and Urroz, while the 'B' team members were Laborde Lagrave, Schilling, Dannhaus and Denn.
CSU Pueblo will close out its fall event portion of its schedule next Saturday, Dec. 9 as the Pack host a double-dual meet with Western Colorado and Colorado College at the Sam Jones Aquatic Center on the CSU Pueblo campus.
