Box Score AUSTIN, Texas (May 12, 2015)– Colorado State University-Pueblo shortstop Taylor Snyder (Jr., Elk Ridge, Utah)earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America South Central Region Player of the Week honors Thursday. This announcement comes two days after Snyder was named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Snyder continued his reign of terror over Adams State University pitching last weekend. The junior posted an incredible .615 average by going 8-for-13 at the plate. He also drew five free passes to compile a .722 on base percentage for the week.
The Pack's shortstop did not stay on-base for long last weekend as he came around to score 10 times. Snyder also plated seven runs and blasted two home runs. He also stole three bases on three attempts.
After this dominating performance Snyder moved into second place in the RMAC with 11 bombs on the season. His 41 RBIs ranks third in the RMAC.The junior also stands fifth in the conference with nine steals and slugging percentage .638.
On Tuesday, Snyder received his second RMAC Player of the Week Award in three weeks. He also took home the award on April 26. With six RMAC Player of the Week Awards in 2016, the Pack have double the number of awards of any other team in the conference.
CSU-Pueblo now has three players that have won NCBWA Player of the Week honors in 2016. Jordan Godman (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) won the award March 17. Right fielder, Oliver Jackson (Jr., Mission Viejo, Calif.) took home the award March 24.
Snyder and the rest of the Pack will play No. 3 seed Colorado School of Mines Thursday in the first round of the RMAC Tournament at 3 p.m. The double elimination tournament will be held in Grand Junction, Colo. at the site of No.1 seed Colorado Mesa University.
