DENVER (April 8, 2016) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Metro State University of Denver Friday and suffered Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference losses at the hands of the Roadrunners.

The women's team (2-18, 0-2 RMAC) lost 7-2 with wins at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 singles. Sophomore Samantha Cachutt (Caracas, Miranda) went 2-0, as she won 6-3 and 7-6 in singles after pairing with senior Brooke Trevithick (Pueblo, Colo.) to win a thrilling 9-7 bout at doubles. Unfortunately, that would be the only wins for the Pack in the conference setback.

On the men's side (4-17, 0-2 RMAC) senior Marcelo Chaparro (Bogotá, Colombia) was the lone victor in the 8-1 loss to the Roadrunners. He won 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3 singles to increase his team-best win total in singles competition to 11.

The ThunderWovles return home Sunday for a nonconference match versus Colorado College beginning at 10 a.m. at Pueblo City Park. The dual caps the home season for both the men and the women until they host the RMAC Tennis Tournament April 22-23.
