Pack tennis wraps RMAC and regular season on the road

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 12, 2016) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo tennis teams wrap the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and regular season on the road April 13 and April 16. The ThunderWolves travel to Colorado Christian University Wednesday and battle Colorado Mesa University Saturday.

The men and women battle CCU Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Lakewood Park, the Saturday

The Pack men are coming off a 9-0 sweep of Colorado College and own a 5-17 record this season. The ThunderWolves are led in singles by Marcelo Chaparro (Bogotá, Colombia), as he is 12-12 with four wins each at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. David Mould (So., Upminster Essex, United Kingdom) has won seven matches in doubles play, which includes four victories at No. 1 singles with partner Siggy Menzel (Biggera Waters, Australia).

The CSU-Pueblo women are 2-19 (0-2 RMAC) overall and are still looking for its first spring victory. Kristin Jensen (So., Colorado Springs, Colo.) has seven wins at singles, which includes a victory at No. 4 singles Sunday against CC. Senior Mariana Hosomi (Sao Paulo, Brasil) has six singles wins, which inludes four at No. 1 singles. Hosomi and fellow senior Tersea Haro (Monument, Colo.) have combined at No. 2 doubles for four wins.

The CCU men are 4-14 (0-2 RMAC) overall and have lost six straight. They are 0-7 at home this season. On the women's side, the Cougars are 8-7 (0-2 RMAC) overall and have dropped their last three matches. CCU is 2-3 at home this season. 

The Colorado Mesa men are No. 8 in South Central region with a 13-10 (0-1 RMAC) overall. The Mavericks are 4-1 at home. On the women's side CMU is 12-12 (0-1 RMAC) overall. Colorado Mesa has won two straight and is 4-0 at home.

The ThunderWolves will host the RMAC Tournament April 22-23 at Pueblo City Park. The bracket with times of matches will be released next week.
