ThunderWolves fall to nationally ranked opponents in spring opener

LAWTON, Okla. (March 4, 2016) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo men's tennis went up against two nationally ranked teams Friday in the opener of the team's spring season at the Cameron Invite, then another top team Saturday.

The ThunderWolves (3-7) fell to No. 13 Ouachita Baptist University (7-1) in the first match of the day Friday by the score of 9-0. Sophomore Steven Alcala (Pueblo, Colo.) was the only member of the Pack in singles play to force a third set. 

CSU-Pueblo then went up against No. 45 East Central University (3-3) and fell by the score of 8-1. The No. 1 doubles pair of Siggy Menzel (So., Biggera Waters, Australia) and David Mould (So., Upminster Essex, United Kingdom) earned the lone victory for the ThunderWolves, as they won 9-7 to earn their first win as a tandem. 

Saturday, the Pack finished with host and 15th-ranked Cameron University and fell by the score of 9-0.
