No. 3 doubles victorious in Pack loss to Tarleton State

RESULTS

PUEBLO, Colo. (March 31, 2016) - The pairing of Gia Montoya (Jr., Pueblo, Colo.) and Samantha Cachutt (So., Caracas, Miranda) won at No. 3 doubles, but the Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team fell to visiting Tarleton State University 5-1, Thursday.

The nonconference match was moved from outdoors to the friendly environment of the Pueblo Tennis Club. The bout was the second of four home duals this week for the Pack, as the ThunderWolves begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Saturday against Western New Mexico University at Pueblo City Park beginning at 2 p.m.

The No. 3 pairing of Montoya and Cachutt won 9-7 for CSU-Pueblo, but the ThunderWolves trailed 2-1 after doubles play. The TexAnns won the first three singles matches to clinch the dual 5-1.

Montoya and Cachutt picked up their first win as partners (1-2), while the Pack fell to 2-15.
