With the two wins, the Pack now stands at 12-6 on the season. The ThunderWolves top the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Plains Division with a 6-1 record in RMAC games.

Godman, the reigning RMAC Player of the Week, was a perfect 7-for-7 at the dish in the double header. He also hit his team leading third home run and drove in four runs in game one. Godman scored five runs and stole three bases between the two games. He also drew two walks, reaching base in each of his nine trips as he raised his average to .500.

The senior has hit safely in each of the Pack's 18 games this season, with two or more hits in each of his last nine games. He has also homered on consecutive days. Godman now leads the RMAC in average (.500), slugging percentage (.719), runs (25), hits (39), and stolen bases (14).

Bregar has now also record a hit in every Pack game in 2016. He has at least one hit in 20 consecutive games dating back to 2015. Bregar finished 5-for-9 in the double header with three RBIs and two runs. He also launched his second home run of the season and stole a base.

Game started in CSU-Pueblo's favor. The Pack took the lead in the second inning with four runs in the top half. Brandon Castaneda (Jr., Azusa, Calif.) doubled. Manny Menocal (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) drove home  Castandea with a RBI single. With Menocal and Francis Griffin (Sr., Oakland, Calif.) on base and two men out, Godman cranked his third home run of the season to give the Pack a 4-0 edge.

Highlands got two back in their half of the second. The Cowboys tied it up with two more in the bottom of the third.

In the top of the fourth, the Pack struck again. Mencoal doubled. Godman plated the Pack's third baseman with a single. After Godman stole second, Gilbert Sauceda (Fr., Indio, Calif.), swatted a single to bring in Godman and give the Pack a 6-4 lead. Highlands answered with one in the bottom of the fourth to cut the Pack's lead to 6-5.

CSU-Pueblo took control in the sixth. With two men down, Bregar belted his first double of the game. Oliver Jackson (Jr., Mission Viejo, Calif.)  plated the All-RMAC first baseman with a base knock. After Taylor Snyder (Jr., Elk Ridge, Utah) singled to keep the inning alive, Castaneda looped a single that scored Jackson and made it an 8-5 lead for the ThunderWolves.

The Pack added a little insurance in the ninth. Godman whacked his fourth hit of game one. Sauceda followed suit which brought up Bregar who bashed his second double of the game to bring home Godman.

Cameron Weinberg (Jr., San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) took the ball in the bottom of the seventh to finish what he started. Weinberg walked a batter but retired the next three men he faced in order to record the complete game.

The complete game earned Weinberg the win as he improved to 2-2 on the seaosn. He allowed three earned runs on eight hits and two walks. Weinberg struck out six Cowboys in his 110-pitch outing.

In the second game of the double header, Highlands jumped out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning. A Cowboys three-run home run did the damage as they held a 3-0 advantage after one.

CSU-Pueblo fought back in the third. Jordyn Compehos (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) walked and Godman got on base with another single. Following two outs, Jackson delivered the clutch hit with a bases clearing double. Jackson's two RBI hit trimmed the Cowboys lead to 3-2.

The Cowboys answered with a run of their own in the third. New Mexico Highlands made it a 4-2 game on an RBI single by Jesus Corporal.

Griffin knocked in Snyder in the top of the fourth with an infield single. Snyder's run brought the Pack back within one yet again.

CSU-Pueblo took the lead for good in the fifth. After yet another Godman single led off the inning, Bregar clubbed his second home run of the season. Bregar's blast sailed over the right field fence and put the Pack in front 5-4.

Jackson scored on an error later in the fifth as the Pack took a 6-4 lead. The junior finished the day 3-for-8 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Highlands made it very interesting in the bottom of the seventh as they threatened to walk off for the second consecutive day. The Cowboys loaded the bases, and closed within one when Josh Nuernberg (Jr. Las Vegas, Nev.) walked home a run. Nuernberg settled down following this walk, getting the final out on a fielder's choice to secure a double header sweep for the Pack.

Nuernberg clinched his second save of the season. He threw 3.0 innings, allowing just the one run. Austyn Garcia (So., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned his first win with a scoreless inning of relief.

The Pack will try to win the four-game set against Highlands Sunday when the two teams meet in the series finale at 12 p.m. CSU-Pueblo will return home next weekend to Adams State University in a four-game series beginning Friday, March 17 at 6 p.m. at Rawlings Field.
