Josh Willingham Award Semifinalists

PUEBLO, Colo. (May 15, 2015) – The semifinalists for the third annual Josh Willingham Award presented by Perfect Game have been announced and Colorado State University-Pueblo's Jordan Godman (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) was named to the list. The annual award honors Division II college baseball's most valuable player - an individual who not only excels on the field, but in the dugout, clubhouse and practice field as well and leads his team to national championship caliber status.

Godman is one of 26 semifinalists for the award and is just one of just two players from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on the list. Colorado Mesa's Ryan Reno joins Godman as the representatives from the RMAC.

A native of Las Vegas, Nev., Godman was also named as a semifinalist for the D2 Baseball News Tino Martinez Award.

Also on Friday, Godman was tabbed to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region squad in the South Central region. The junior ranked in the top-10 in the RMAC in stolen bases, triples, hits, runs, walks, total bases, batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage at the conclusion of the regular season. The second-team all-conference honoree is currently batting .387 with four home runs, 35 RBIs, 59 runs and 31 walks.

The ThunderWolves are currently competing in the NCAA South Central Region Tournament in Grand Junction, Colo. The No. 4 seed Pack rallied to defeat No. 3 seed Angelo State, 9-8, in the first round and are scheduled to take No. 5 seed West Texas A&M Friday. Game time is tentatively scheduled for 9 p.m.
