Pack tennis teams fall at Western New Mexico Saturday

SILVER CITY, N.M. (April 11, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team fell to Western New Mexico University, 7-2, Saturday accounting for its first loss in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play this season.

The ThunderWolves hold a record of 6-8 overall and 3-1 in conference play this spring. Freshman Patricia Maya (San Luis Potos, Mexico) and junior Brooke Trevithick (Pueblo, Colo.) recorded the lone doubles victory, 8-6, playing at the No. 1 spot. Junior Mariana Hosomi (Sao Paulo, Brazil) won at No. 2 singles 6-1 and 6-2, to go 1-1 on the day and 3-1 on the conference road weekend.

The Pack men's team fell 9-0, to move to 2-2 in conference play and 5-13 overall.

Both CSU-Pueblo tennis teams are set to remain on the road as they complete the regular season against University of Colorado Mesa April 18 beginning at 11 a.m. The ThunderWolves host the RMAC Tennis Championships at Pueblo City Park April 24-25.

As a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Colorado State University – Pueblo competes in 22 varsity sports in NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics.
