SILVER CITY, N.M. (April 10, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's tennis team posted a 6-3 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory against Metro State University of Denver Friday in a neutral site match to improve to 3-0 in league play.
The ThunderWolves improved to 6-7 overall this spring, as junior Mariana Hosomi (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and junior Brooke Trevithick (Pueblo, Colo.) went 2-0 for the Pack. Hosomi won at No. 2 singles 6-4 and 6-2 after winning 8-1 at No. 3 doubles with partner junior Teresa Haro (Monument, Colo.). Trevithick won at No. 1 doubles with partner Patricia Maya (San Luis Potos, Mexico), 8-4. She followed the doubles performance with a win at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 3-6 and 1-0 (10-7).
The Pack men's team fell 6-1 (last two matches unfinished because of darkness), to move to 2-1 in conference play and 5-12 overall. Senior Gael Reitter (Choisy-le-Roi, France) posted the lone win for the ThunderWolves at No. 2 singles, 6-3 and 7-5.
Both CSU-Pueblo tennis teams remain in Silver City, New Mexico Saturday to battle Western New Mexico University beginning at 9 a.m.
