PUEBLO, Colo. (by Michael Liptak - March 22, 2015)- After going 1-4 in its five game homestand, the Colorado State University-Pueblo women's lacrosse team is back on the road for the week, as it will travel to the East Coast for three games. Monday, the ThunderWolves take on Coker College out of South Carolina, then travel north to take on Brevard College Wednesday and Chowan University Friday, both in North Carolina.

About CSU-Pueblo
The ThunderWolves enter the week 1-6 overall (1-2 RMAC) and are coming off a week in which they earned the program's first-ever victory.
As a team, the Pack are averaging 4.86 goals per game, 16.28 ground balls per contest and 6.71 caused turnovers per match. In their lone victory of the season against Rockhurst University, CSU-Pueblo outdueled the Hawks in shots (27-26), ground balls (31-17), free-position shots (9-6) and forced turnovers, 22-18.
Four players for the ThunderWolves have dominated the scoring load, as they have accumulated 32 of the team's 34 total goals and 38 of their 42 total points. Allye Webb (Fr., M, Colorado Springs, Colo.) has a team-high 11 goals and 14 points as well as three assists. Right behind her is freshman Alix Zierden (M, Elk River, Minn.) with 10 goals. Then finally Rachael Welzin (Fr., Farmington, Minn.) is third in goals with six and Kiana Kelii (Fr., Bloomington, Minn.) fourth with five. Kelii is third in total points (8) and tied for the team-high in assists with Webb at three.
About Coker
The Cobras enter Monday's contest 4-5 with all four victories coming at home at Byerly Park. In their victories, they're netting 18.75 points per contest and 15.6 points overall. Four players have 17 or more goals and 23 or more points total. Claudia Jenkins is the leader in both goals (24) and points (28), while Mackenzie Baker (17, 23), Haley McCusker (17, 26), and Danielle Holcomb (18, 27) are the other three to reach those achievements.
About Brevard
Like the ThunderWolves, the Tornados are a relatively new lacrosse program. They're in their second season and after going winless in their first season, Brevard notched their first win in program history Saturday against Emmanuel College 13-10. On the season, Brevard is 1-8 overall, averaging 7.67 goals per game, while allowing 18.33 points per match. Alyssa Barrett leads the Tornados with 19 goals (21 points), with Caitlyn Nemeth (17, 20) and Nina Siu (11, 12) are the only other players to surpass double-digits in goals.
About Chowan
The Hawks are 2-4 through six games with both wins coming at home in the comforts of Hawks Field. In their two lone wins they scored 20 points in both contests. For the season, they're sitting at 14.83 goals per game, assisting on 5.33 per contest. At attack for Chowan, Mackenzie Reid, through six games, has reached the back of the net 36 times and assisted on 10 other goals for the Hawks. Charisse Wilcox (16 goals), Kamile Smith (14 goals) and Adriea Herndon (14 goals) are the other key contributors for Chowan offensively.

After the road trip ends for the ThunderWolves, they return home next Wednesday April 1 against Colorado College for their last homestand of the season, which will end against Adams State University Friday April 3.
