COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com – Mar. 25, 2014) – After tossing a 4-hit shutout in a road win at Regis on Friday, Colorado State University-Pueblo junior left-hander Jesse Bristow (Heber, Utah) has been named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week.
The announcement was made Tuesday by conference officials.
Bristow, who tallied his first shutout with the ThunderWolves, struck out six Rangers allowing just two walks in the ThunderWolves' 3-0 win in the second game of a doubleheader in Denver. He did not allow an extra-base hit in the game, holding opponents to a .160 batting average and has now won each of his last three starts while lowering his overall ERA to 3.45.
Bristow, who is tied with teammate and Preseason RMAC Pitcher of the Year Mike Fabrizio (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) for the RMAC lead in wins, is 4-1 on the year. He and Fabrizio are also tied for the RMAC lead in batters struck out looking (13).
Bristow is also second behind only Fabrizio in the RMAC for innings pitched and total strikeouts.
The ThunderWolves (12-12, 8-6 RMAC) are playing a non-conference neutral-site game against Colorado Mesa in Denver on Tuesday afternoon and then return home to Rawlings Field to begin an 8-game home-stand on Friday night at 6 o'clock when they host Colorado Christian for the first of a 4-game set.
