DENVER (GoThunderWolves.com - Mar. 20, 2014) — The Colorado State University-Pueblo baseball team has altered and added a game to the upcoming schedule.
Due to poor weather forecasts for Saturday in the Mile High city, the ThunderWolves will now play a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader against host Regis University on Friday and another on Sunday. Both twin-bills will begin at noon and will include a 9-inning first game followed by a second 7-inning game.
The original schedule called for single 9-inning games on Friday and Sunday afternoons and a doubleheader of 7-inning games on Saturday.
Additionally, the Pack are now slated to play a single 9-inning game on Tuesday (Mar. 25) against Colorado Mesa. That game, which will be a non-conference affair, will be played here at Metro State's Auraria Field and is an addition to the schedule. It is slated for a 3 p.m. start after Colorado Mesa will play the host Roadrunners at noon.
The ThunderWolves come into the stretch with a 10-10 overall record and are in third place in the RMAC's overall standings with a 6-4 mark, just one game ahead of the Rangers (8-9, 5-5 RMAC), who are hot off a RMAC sweep of Colorado Christian. CSU-Pueblo is in second place in the Plains Division behind New Mexico Highlands (11-10, 8-3 RMAC), which hosts Mountain Division leading Colorado Mesa (14-3, 9-1 RMAC) for a 4-game set this weekend. Regis is in second place in the Mountain Division and fourth place in the overall standings.
