SILVER CITY, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 1, 2014) - CSU-Pueblo rebounded from an ice-cold first half Saturday to hang 46 second-half points on Western New Mexico, coming away with a 66-57 win.
The ThunderWolves struggled the entire first half, trailing nearly the entire time and shooting just 26 percent, sitting at a 32-20 disadvantage at halftime.
After Western New Mexico landed the first bucket of the second half to go up by 14, the Pack embarked on a 17-2 run to take a 37-36 lead seven minutes into the half, and followed it up minutes later with a 21-4 run that carried it through to the win.
After its dreary first half shooting the ball, the Pack made up for it by sinking 58 percent of its shots, led by Paige Ramm (Sr., Prescott, Ariz.) who scored 16 in the second half after being shut out in the first.
The ThunderWolves' win marks its fourth straight and sixth in its past seven as the Pack improves to 16-5 overall and 13-2 in conference play. CSU-Pueblo is now firmly entrenched in second place in the standings, holding a four-game lead over Regis and Black Hills State entering the final full month of the season.
CSU-Pueblo will continue on its road trip next weekend when it heads to UC-Colorado Springs to take on the Mountain Lions.
