GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - April 21, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo was ousted from the RMAC Tournament Sunday, losing 5-0 to Metro State and finishing fourth, its highest tournament finish since 2006.
CSU-Pueblo's fate was written early, as it dropped the first three doubles matches. It also dropped its one- and three-singles matches in straight sets, forcing play to halt as Metro State had already clinched the win.
Despite their exit Sunday, CSU-Pueblo's finish marks its highest since 2006, when the ThunderWolves won the RMAC Championship. In fact, its win over Montana State-Billings Saturday marked its first win at the RMAC Tournament since that 2006 run.
The ThunderWolves, though, will live to play another day as not a single player from its squad will graduate. In fact, five of its top singles players are true freshmen.
