In the regular season finale for the CSU-Pueblo men's tennis, they were held to just two team points in the 7-2 loss to Metro State.
Saturday the Pack was outplayed throughout doubles competition and the first few singles play matches. Heading to the final two singles matches, the T-Wolves found themselves in a deep hole 7-0. Tom Chavez (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.), notched his first conference win of the spring, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3)and Shane Nicholls (Fr., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) outlasted his opponent with a three set victory to help the Pack avoid the shutout.
Before the match, the Pack knew they had clinched the 5-seed in the upcoming RMAC Championship Tournament and would face 4-seeded Metro State yet again, making it the third time this spring the two teams will do battle this spring.
CSU-Pueblo will look to shake up the RMAC tournament beginning Friday when they face #4 Metro State at the Elliott Tennis Center in Grand Junction, Colo. first serve is set for 11 am.
