ThunderWolves wrap up tough weekend

LAWTON, Okla. (GoThunderWolves.com - March 2, 2013) - When the CSU-Pueblo men's tennis team traveled to Oklahoma for a quad style format, it was well known the opposition would be tough as they were to face two nationally ranked opponents and the Pack had no answers as they were swept in all three of their matches over the weekend.

After being shutout in the first match on Friday against #20 Cameron, 9-0, the Pack came back out later in the day to face another nationally ranked opponent #34 Southwest Baptist, falling 8-1.  The Pack scored their lone team point on No. 3 singles play when Anthony Breitenbach (Sr., Tigard, Ore.) bounced back after a first set loss to win in three sets (2-6, 6-1, 10-8), notching his first victory on the young season.

Saturday the Pack faced yet another tough opponent in East Central University dropping the match 8-1. Saul Shrom (Jr., Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada) had a solid performance in No. 2 singles winning in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (5). Shrom also picked up his first win of the spring.

The Pack will be back in action Friday when they will play host to Colorado Christian at the Pueblo City Park courts, in the conference opener for both teams.
