PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - March 10, 2013) - The CSU-Pueblo men's and women's tennis programs will host the Inaugural ThunderWolves Classic on from Thursday through Saturday, March 14-17, at the Pueblo City Park Tennis Complex.
The four days of high level intercollegiate tennis will feature squads from all over region, including men's squads Grand Canyon (Ariz.) University, which is the 13th-ranked team in the nation, Colorado Mesa University, Metro State University, Bethany (Kan.) College (the 7th-ranked NAIA team), and Sonoma State (Calif.). The Metro State and CSU-Pueblo women will also square off as part of the week's competition.
Scores for all matches will be posted on GoThunderWolves.com and following the week of competition, a six-member all-tournament team will be released for the men's competitors.
National and Regional Rankings
Nationally Ranked Squads: Grand Canyon men (13th), Bethany (7th, NAIA)
Regionally Ranked Squads: Metro State (10th, South Central Region), Grand Canyon (4th, West Region), Sonoma State (8th, West Region)
Note: As of the time of this tournament, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has not released its individual rankings.
