ThunderWolves fall to Division I Air Force

USAFA, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 22, 2013) - CSU-Pueblo battled hard in attempts to win a few sets in a dual against Division I Air Force, but fell 9-0 Friday.

The difference between the ThunderWolves last season when it faced Air Force, coming away with only three games, compared to this year, when it won 11, was evident.

"Air Force is obviously a tough team for us, but I thought we played really well," Pack coach Brad Gerler said.  "We really played some hard fought points and games too."

The Pack's one-doubles combo of Katie Howe (So., Pueblo, Colo.) and Gia Montoya (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) came away with the most impressive performance, challenging Air Force's top combo to an 8-2 loss.

"I was especially pleased with Katie and Gia," Gerler said. "They played some good doubles together and both really battled in their singles matches. I think it is the best I've ever seen those two play."

CSU-Pueblo will next hit the courts Mar. 2, when it travels to Colorado College.
