Early pitchers' dual turns toxic for Pack.
SAN ANGELO, Tex. (GoThunderWolves.com - Feb. 24, 2012) - A pitchers' dual turned into a rout Friday as CSU-Pueblo fell 9-0 to a nationally-renowned Angelo State squad.
After holding Angelo State scoreless for the first three innings, the Rams broke the Pack, first by loading the bases and using a Doug Snover two-run single to go up 2-0 in the fourth inning.
Angelo State then hung a "four" on the Pack in the fifth inning, three runs coming on a home run by Lee Neumann as the Rams rode the 6-0 lead down the stretch to the eventual win.
CSU-Pueblo could only muster five hits on Angelo State pitching, with starter Jake Feckley pitching 5-1/3 innings and allowing four hits.
Pack starter Mike Fabrizio (So., Pueblo, Colo.) lasted five innings, but gave up six runs on eight hits. The only ThunderWolf to turn in a multi-hit game was Chris Schindler (Sr., San Mateo, Calif.) going 2-for-3.
CSU-Pueblo will face Angelo State again on Saturday in a doubleheader.
