ThunderWolves explode for 91 points in claiming fourth straight win.
LAS VEGAS, N.M. (GoThunderWolves.com - Jan. 27, 2012) - This season, CSU-Pueblo has been all about defense.
Friday, the Pack offense loudly proclaimed its importance, exploding for 91 points on 52 percent shooting as CSU-Pueblo claimed a 91-73 win over New Mexico Highlands.
Aside from an early 2-0 deficit, CSU-Pueblo never trailed as it got behind a breakout game from Kendall Babler (Sr., Rifle, Colo.), who smashed her previous career-high of 25 points with a 31-point performance, sinking five threes, also a career-high. She became the first ThunderWolf since current assistant coach, Rachel Espinoza, to surpass 30 points in a game.
Other ThunderWolves got in on the action, including Paige Ramm (So., Prescott, Ariz.), who came off the bench to net 19 points, and Taylor Fox (So., Santa Cruz, Calif.), who also broke out from the bench, scoring 11 points to go with eight rebounds and falling just short of a double-double. Laurel Kearsley (Jr., Victor, Idaho) also contributed 16 points.
CSU-Pueblo, now 15-3 and 12-2 in RMAC play, will travel to Silver City, N.M. Saturday to tangle with winless Western New Mexico.
