Pack falls twice at home

PUEBLO, Colo. (GoThunderWolves.com - Apr. 8, 2011) - CSU-Pueblo dropped two weekend matches against RMAC opponents, losing 5-4 to Western New Mexico Thursday and 7-2 to Mesa State Friday.

The Pack's loss to Western New Mexico was the hardest pill to swallow, which entered the match with an 0-15 record this season.  But individually, Kellie Manes (So., Pueblo, Colo.) had a strong day as well as a strong weekend, winning both her singles and doubles match (with partner Aneysa Hart (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.)) as well as her singles match with Mesa State Friday.

Top singles player Morgan Forsyth (Jr., Parker, Colo.) was also strong, going a combined 3-1 on the weekend, her most impressive match coming against Mesa State's Kelleen Sera, the ninth-ranked player in the region. Forsyth ran roughshod over Sera, winning 6-1, 6-0.

CSU-Pueblo will have one more home match this season - Apr. 13 vs. Colorado College - before it heads to Grand Junction for two matches Apr. 16.
